Port forwarding/translation control
My Linux system is acting as a NAT''ing firewall, and I have some rules for doing port forwarding/translation. I was thinking about this the other day and I realized that there are other parts of the system that consume ports. Specifically, NAT and ephemeral port allocation. It occurs to me that I could potentially have a conflict. If I set up a rule to forward/translate a port, and

upgrading from 3.0.1 to 3.0.2
Hi All, I''ve tried upgrading from 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 on a couple of test servers and had the same strange results on both... In both cases I had a running 3.0.1server, then downloaded the 3.0.2 source. Next, I extracted the files and executed "make XEN_TARGET_X86_PAE=y world". Upon completion I executed "dist/install.sh", changed the grub.conf and rebooted. Once the

Printing an extra blank page all the time.
Hi, I'm running samba-3.0.5 on OpenBSD 3.5. I'm trying out using samba as a print server for the first time, and it works ok, but I have this problem where everytime I print anything, a additional blank page comes out of the printer at the end of what was just printed. It's an old HP Laserjet 4 connected to the parallel port of the samba server. /etc/printcap lp|HP4|HP Laserjet

Hi folks, The following are initial virtio-scsi + target vhost benchmark results using multiple target LUNs per vhost and multiple virtio PCI adapters to scale the total number of virtio-scsi LUNs into a single KVM guest. Samba and ufw (mmcg29440@frontier.com)
Rowland, Thank you for all your help, I agree that this is not a Samba issue. Given rhat it works without the firewall. It' either a ufw or Windows 8.1 issue. Louis, Applied the rules you suggested to ufw exactly as written. No change. Still cannot connect with firewall enabled. Same error mesage as before "Cannot mount location ...". ufw log set to medium and copied below.
