SQL Server via DBI/ODBC configuration
I have followed the cookbook on http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/database-support/ms-sql
but am having problems with the rails part. I can connect to the
database using sqsh so I think all the freetds plumbing is good. When
I try to connect to the db with a rake db:migrate or just using script/
console I get this error:
>> Client.find(:first)
DBI::InterfaceError: Unable to load driver

S/R/RWeb/ODBC
I'm looking for an optimal approach to access Oracle databases via RWeb
applications. I'm new to R but familiar with programming functions and web
pages for the S+ Statserver. I'm now going through the motions of migrating
S+/Statserver applications to R/RWeb as a feasability exercise. I can access
databases using ODBC directly in R or S, and using Statserver, but I have
not succeeded

Is SQL Server not supported in RoR on the Mac?
Hi -- I''ve been having problems connecting to a SQL Server database that
I thought might be related to the fact I was upgrading Rails to 2.0.
However, I also was moving the project to my shiny new macbook.
Anyway, after jumping through a few hoops (instaling DBI, etc.), I
finally get to my latest error message:
<error>

Ruby-ODBC compiled for Windows... Anything newer than 0.997?
Hey :)
We''re doing this large project, based on a legacy MSSQL database.
We''ve had some issues, particularly with datetimes, when communicating
with the server. These issues dissapeared after updating our ruby-odbc
package to a new version (we''re developing on Linux and MacOS X, and
connecting to the remote MSSQL server via FreeTDS and UnixODBC/iODBC,
and then ruby-odbc

R and Sybase
Hi,
I'm trying to get R connected to Sybase on a Linux
machine. I'm relatively new to databases,
particularly the connectivity side.
Do I have to use RODBC and install ODBC support on the
system (a huge pain with Sybase, as you have to
install a scaled-down version of Sybase itself on the
system to get it to work with ODBC), or can I somehow
use DBI to do it. Other processes on the

Rails & unixODBC
Hello,
I decided to embrace getting a new Rails application to see an
existing MSSQL database and trying to get unixODBC, freeTDS, and
ActiveRecord able to query my MSSQL database.
I''m following the procedure outlined at
http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/HowtoConnectToMicrosoftSQLServerFromRailsOnLinux
but my system (Ubuntu 8.10 - Intrepid Ibex, Rails 2.3, Ruby 1.8.7)

sql server & linux: left join problem
I''ve got a left join problem of some sort connecting from linux

yum groupinstall "MySQL Database"
Hi all,
I have a question related to yum groupinstall.
I just tried a:
yum groupinstall "MySQL Database"
I expected that I would end up with a MySQL Database server,
but it installed a bunch of .rpms *except* mysql-server. No
big deal, I'm just curious if it was intended this way or not,
that's all.
Thank you and,
Have a nice evening everyone,

MySQL 5.5, PHP and other tools still use 5.0 client drivers
I upgraded a web server from CentOS 5.9 to 5.10. The instructions also
indicate that MySQL 5.0 is no longer supported so I followed the
instructions to upgrade to 5.5. Everything seems to be working so I
tried to remove MySQL 5.0 and MySQL 5.1. It seems there are still
dependencies on MySQL 5.0:
[root at w3 ~]# rpm -e mysql51-mysql-libs-5.1.70-1.el5 mysql-server-5.0.95-5.el5_9

[OT] Oracle->MySQL ODBC via SSL using: stock MySQL, mysql-connect or-odbc-3.51.27-0, Oracle XE
I know this is very off topic, but getting MySQL and unix ODBC to play nice
via SSL on Centos has been a battle.
I finally have it working via isql but when I connect via Oracle I get an
error.
If I use the mysql odbc connector directly:
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this
message:

Hi,
I got a big project where i need to read an visual fox pro database, got this working on a windows server running php. But i would like to run this app on a linux machine(ubuntu 11.10). My idea was to use wine to setup the odbc driver and connect to it using php running on my linux machine. Now my question is if this is posible?
Many thanks,

MySQL ODBC stub
The wine odbc stub (odbc32.dll) has a environment variable to point to unix
odbc driver:
LIB_ODBC_DRIVER_MANAGER=/usr/lib/libodbc.so.1
Is there a stub to use MySQL ODBC driver:
/usr/lib/libmyodbc3.so.1 ?
I have an application that uses the MySQL ODBC driver and I coul not install
the native driver :
mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.12-win32.msi

I am trying to set up cdr logging into MariaDB through ODBC.
I have installed unixodbc unixodbc-dev and now I am struggling with
