Bug#658606: Xen 4.0 dom0 boot hangs "Waiting for /dev to be populated"
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64
Version: 4.0.1-4
After an upgrade to squeeze I've installed Xen 4.0, but when trying to
boot the Xen kernel the boot freezes at the message:
Waiting for /dev to be fully populated...
Nothing further usually [*] appears after this message, and after a short
time the screen becomes blank (and power saves, as if there is no signal)
and there appears to be

Bug#748052: xen-hypervisor-4.3-amd64: No USB keyboard after booting into Dom0
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.3-amd64
Version: 4.3.0-3+b1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
After booting into kernel 3.13 dom0, the keyboard no longer works.
All other aspects work, ssh is needed to login to the system to
start working with the domU's.
They keyboard works at the grub menu just fine, and
works normal when booting into the non xen kernel.

Keyboard doesn''t work with dom0
Hello,
I''ve been able to install almost successfully Xen on Gentoo 2006.1.
Everything compiled fine. I can boot my dom0 kernel with Xen on my Gentoo
system. The problem I have is that the keyboard doesn''t work... The computer
is a ThinkPad R51 laptop. Does anyone has any idea?
Thanks

Failed to setup GSI - dom0 Linux Kernel Boot Issues
Having some huge issues with Xen on one of my boxes.
I''m using the package from Arch Linux repository, though I have tried
Vanilla source with identical results. This package works on two of my
other computers (all it does patch-wise is change the Xen init.d scripts to
Arch Linux compatible ones, and add support for xz-compressed dom0 kernels).
My syslinux.cfg menu line is as follows:

Can I use SGI''s kdb with a dom0 pv-ops kernel?
I asked this a few weeks ago but didn''t get a response, so at the risk of
being a nag, I''ll abbreviate and restate.
I know there are other Xen specific debuggers, but I want to know if there''s
any reason why SGI''s kdb, http://oss.sgi.com/projects/kdb, should not be
included in a dom0 pv-ops kernel?
While the patches apply cleanly and build, the result is that

External monitor support changes.
I've been working on this issue for quite a while.
Back in January of 2015 I posted about how well external monitors worked
with the out-of-the-box CentOS 7 ATI radeon drivers and my Dell M6500
with an ATI FirePro M7820.
At the time the support was seamless and 'Just Worked' without any
issue. A few months later, some update came down the pipe and this
broke completely, with the

XEN | kernel 3.0 vs 2.6.34-xen - no pci backend?
ls /lib/modules/2.6.34-xen-r4-dom0/kernel/drivers/xen/pciback
pciback.ko
passthru works fine with that module and 2.6.34-xen dom0/domU host/guest
i can''t find analog for this module in 3.0 kernel. pci-stub i suppose is
for KVM and doesn''t work with XEN - guest starts but has no PCI devices.
can anyone give me some advice on make PCI passthru work in 3.0?

Loosing keyboard
Hello.
I am experiencing a problem with CentOS 3, it's that when I start Xwindow,
my keyboard is lost and I can't do anything anymore. The Num Lock doesn't
react nor the Caps lock. It's like if it would just be disabled. If I quit
Xwindow, then my keyboard comes back again, working perfectly.
Did anybody also have this problem ? I had a look elsewhere but didn't see
anything

USB Keyboard
Hello,
My desktop machine at work was replaced and they gave me a Dell
Optiplex GX520 machine to use. When booting from CD-ROM I use
isolinux 3.50 and the keyboard does not work. It does work once linux
boots, and it works if I hit the F2 to go into bios before isolinux
starts. I have searched google and the syslinux archives for
'Optiplex GX520' but have not found any reports of

Bug#493856: xen-utils-3.2-1: i386 Dom0 cannot load Debian 2.6.26 amd64 kernel bzImage
Package: xen-utils-3.2-1
Version: 3.2.1-2
Severity: important
Hi,
I set the severity to important as it seems that current xen tools
does not allow to load amd64 Debian kernel in DomU.
I also put the debian-kernel ML in CC as I'm not sure the problem
comes from xen tools or the kernel itself.
Here is my configuration:

Keyboard Fails at Login Prompt
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I just setup an old box with CentOS 4 and I'm having a very strange
problem. The keyboard is functional throughout the startup process of
the machine. I get the login prompt and I get just enough time to type
in "root" and hit the enter button before the keyboard fails. I've
tried a different keyboard but still the same problem.

Nvidia related kernel panic on boot, *unless* the keyboard is tapped
So here is an odd one
Ever since the upgrade to 7.3, when using the el-repo kmod-nvidia, boot
hangs around the 'mounted /boot' point. If left it then kernel panics
However at that point, tapping the keyboard gets it going again. As I'm
using a wireless keyboard, even the act of switching the keyboard on
gets it going again
This doesn't happen without the kmod, and I'm in
