using ipoib with xcp
Hello,
I have been playing with the XCP for a while now, and must say I''m very
exited about the technology. I had no prior experience with Xen so it has
taken me a while to understand the concepts, but now I feel most important
issues are solved and I''ve purchased some hardware to build my (tiny) cloud
on.
The box is a Supermicro 1026TT-IBXF, so I have 2 x Ethernet and 1 x

Xen and the InfiniBand
Hi, all,
Is the Xen currently compatible with the InfiniBand? I found some
information about the Smart I/O module, but it was posted in 2006. Is the
module still maintained? Or, are there any up-to-date alternatives for
that?
Many thanks,
Chiu

Infiniband performance issues answered?
In IRC today, someone who was hitting that same IB performance ceiling
that occasionally gets reported had this to say

[11:50] <nissim> so I moved to CentOS 6.3
[11:51] <nissim> next I removed all distibution related infiniband rpms

CTDB + InfiniBand Public IP Addresses
Hi,
I'm trying to set up a small CTDB cluster running in an IPoIB InfiniBand
network. When I try to start up a cluster with a set of public IP
addresses, the public addresses do not come online. So, I removed the
public address configuration and started a single node up by hand, then
tried to add a public address as follows:
[root at gp-1-0 ctdb]# ctdb ip

lnet infiniband config
Hi all,
I''m getting my feet wet in the infiniband lake and of course I run into
some problems.
It would seem I got the compilation part of sles11 kernel 2.6.27 +
Lustre 1.8.3 + ofed 1.4.2 right, because it allows me to see and use the
infiniband fabric, and because ko2iblnd loads without any complaints.
In /etc/modprobe.d/lustre (this is a Debian system, hence this subdir of

Recommendations for Infiniband with CentOS 6.7
We have a new install of CentOS 6.7 with infiniband support installed.
We can see the card in hardware and we can see the mlx4 drivers loaded
in the kernel but cannot see the card as an ethernet interface, using
ifconfig -a. Can you recommend an install procedure to see this as an
ethernet interface?
Thanks

tips/nest practices for gluster rdma?
Hey guys,
So, we're testing Gluster RDMA storage, and are having some issues. Things
are working...just not as we expected them. THere isn't a whole lot in the
way, that I've foudn on docs for gluster rdma, aside from basically
"install gluster-rdma", create a volume with transport=rdma, and mount w/
transport=rdma....
I've done that...and the IB fabric is known to be

Are there source codes for Xen-IB?
Hi,
I found a link: http://xenbits.xensource.com/ext/xen-smartio.hg for Xen-IB
source codes, but it did''t exist anymore.
Are there other ways to get the Xen-IB source codes?
Thanks.

problems running a vol over IPoIB, and qemu off it?
hi people
I wonder if anybody experience any problems with vols in
replica mode that run across IPoIB links and libvirt stores
qcow image on such a volume?
I wonder if maybe devel could confirm it should just work,
and then hardware/Infiniband I should blame.
I have a direct IPoIB link between two hosts, gluster
replica volume, libvirt store disk images there.
I start a guest on hostA and

Problem running Gluterfs over Infiniband
Dear List,
We have lots of issues running Glusterfs over Infiniband. The client
can mount the share, but when trying to access it by ls, df, touch du
or any other kind the client hosts freeze the accessing shell and
reboot is hardly possible.

kernel-2.6.18-8.1.14 + lustre 1.6.4.2 + OFED 1.2
We seemed to have it a stumbling block when building with the above
(supported) versions. Our process...
1. Start with stock rhel5 2.6.18-8.1.14 source tree
2. Configure InfiniBand support out of the the kernel (we will build
OFED separately).
3. Apply the 1.6.4.2 kernel patches to the kernel source.
4. Build the kernel.
5. Build OFED 1.2 against the patched kernel
6. Build Lustre using

rdma or tcp?
Is there a document with some guidelines for setting up bricks with
tcp or rdma transport?
I'm looking at a new deployment where the storage cluster hosts
connect via 10GigE, but clients are on 1GigE. Over time, there will be
10GigE clients, but the majority will remain on 1GigE. In this setup,
should the storage bricks use tcp or rdma?
If tcp is the better choice, and at some point in the

Recommendations for Infiniband with CentOS 6.7
Hi All,
We looking for suggestions on dealing with mellanox drivers in CentOS 6.7
We tried installing mellanox drivers

server running Centos 6.7 - 2.6.32-573.22.1.el6.x86_64. When we
rebooted the machine after installing the drivers, it went into a kernel

Request: Infiniband Support in ipconfig
When attempting to boot a system using Infiniband interfaces, ipconfig does not recognize Infiniband NICs as having valid MAC addresses, so they are silently ignored. As I would like to be able to netboot using Infiniband, I have patched ipconfig to support Infiniband interfaces.
Fortunately, it's a pretty simple and straightforward patch. Below is the patch for your consideration.

Infiniband Drivers under Xen kernel?
Hello folks,
I am running Xen 2.6 under Centos 5.2 installation, and am trying to port
Xen migration abilities to Infiniband. But, the InfiniBand drivers do not
work under Xen kernel, only under non-Xen kernels. It looks like I need to
install some patches to rectify the situation.
Has anyone ever worked with Infiniband and Xen and would be able to give me
inputs about the same? I would really

gluster over infiniband....
Hey guys,
I am running gluster over infiniband, and I have a couple of questions.
We have four servers, each with 1 disk that I am trying to access over infiniband using gluster. The servers look like they start okay, here are the last 10 or so lines of a client log (they are all identical):

lfs_migrate question
Hi,
I suffered an oss crash where my oss server had a cpu fault. I have it running again, but I am trying to decommission it. I am migrating the data off of it onto other ost''s using the lfs find command with lfs_migrate.
It''s been nearly 36 hours and about 2 terabytes have been moved. This means I am about halfway. Is this a decent rate?
Here are the particulars, which
