[HOWTO] Running Xen 4.0 host (dom0) with Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6)
Hello, If you''re interested in running Xen 4.0 hypervisor/dom0 on RHEL6, take a look at here: http://wiki.xen.org/xenwiki/RHEL6Xen4Tutorial It explains steps needed to rebuild Xen 4.0.1 src.rpm from Fedora on RHEL6, and how to fetch dom0 capable 2.6.32.x kernel from upstream git repository. It also shows how to get libvirt/virt-manager working with Xen on RHEL6. Hopefully it helps :)

How to use PV on HVM
Hi, I am trying to setup Xen to use "PV on HVM". For this, I did the following. (1) I followed the tutorial at http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Fedora13Xen4Tutorial to setup Xen4.0.1 on Fedora13. I am able to run virt-manager and create a Fedora 13 guest. (2) I followed the tutorial at http://bderzhavets.wordpress.com/2010/05/27/pv-on-hvm-at-xen-4-0-on-top-of-fedora-13/to use PV on

Recommended RAM for ZFS on various platforms
I''m currently planning on running FreeBSD with ZFS, but I wanted to double-check how much memory I''d need for it to be stable. The ZFS wiki currently says you can go as low as 1 GB, but recommends 2 GB; however, elsewhere I''ve seen someone claim that you need at least 4 GB. Does anyone here know how much RAM FreeBSD would need in this case? Likewise, how much RAM

Nexenta: "load_mib2nut: using pw mib" package / config / or firewall problem?
G'day I'm currently using NUT on Debian squeeze box in the same subnet with an IBM 3000 HV (branded Eaton 5125 with Web/SNMP card), now I wanted to get our storage appliance running NexentaStor 3.1 set up to be using NUT too. ZFS volume turned into a socket - any way to restore data?
I have recently upgraded from NexentaStor 2 to NexentaStor 3 and somehow one of my volumes got corrupted. Its showing up as a socket. Has anyone seen this before? Is there a way to get my data back? It seems like it''s still there, but not recognized as a folder. I ran zpool scrub, but it came back clean. Attached is the output of #zdb data/rt 2.0K sr-xr-xr-x 17 root root 17 Jul

Re: [Fedora-xen] another xen build and pvops kernel
Just wondering why kernel-2.6.32.23-170.xendom0.fc12.src.rpm cannot make itself into F14. It seems pretty stable. Why it cannot be just a package available via "yum install" . Anyway Fedora''s Libvirt has the best compatibility with Xen 4.0.1. It''s not too late switch back to Xen with PVOPS kernel. XenLinux 2.6.34.7 aka Suse is really dangerous . It outperforms pvops

OT: Recommendations for a virtual storage server
Hi all, I need to install a virtual machine acting as a virtual storage server under CentOS 5.x (using kvm, xen, virtualbox or vmware). This virtual storage machine needs to server storage to another ESXi server and at the same time to the host where is installed. This is due to the limitations of hardware I have available. Both hosts needs to server several machines. It is very
