XCP License issue
Dear All,
I am new for XCP, Recently, i installed the XCP and open xencenter in our
testbed. However, it has a message to notify me the license only have 30
days trial. Do anyone face this problem before?
How can i obtain the full version of XCP instead of using the trial version?
Best regards,
Besh

Hypervisor kernel confusion
I''m a bit confused about the kernel used by the Xen hypervisor. I''ve
just installed a 30 day trial of XenSource''s Enterprise edition software
on a Sun Fire 4600.
It was my understanding that it would install a 64 bit hypervisor,
however, upon running uname -a on my machine, I am told that I am
running a i686 kernel. Did I miss something? How does one use a 64 bit

PV 0.9.12pre3 gives BSOD when installing in VM in Xenserver 5.
Hello,
I have Xenserver 5.0.
When i install a new VM with Windows Server 2003 X64 Standard (R2) and
install all windows-updates, it gives me a BSOD when i install the PV
0.9.12pre3 drivers.
Steps to reproduce:
- Install Xenserver 5 (light/free or Enterprise/trial)
- Install a Windows Server 2003 x64 R2 VM from a ISO or CD
- Install all windows updates
- Download the GPLPV 0.9.12pre3 .exe file

How do I make multiple console connections to one virtual machine?
How do I make multiple console connections to one virtual machine? If I try
to connect two different terminal windows to one virtual machine, they both
connect to the same console. Is there a way to get more than one consoles
to a single virtual machine?
I cannot use a network interface to accomplish this either, so ''telnet in''
type solutions won''t do me any good.

Debian lenny, lvm and filesystem xfs
Hi,
I''m running Xen on a Debian Xeon E3110 using the Debian 2.6.26-2-xen kernel.
As filesystem for my lvm domU partitions I choosed xfs.
I get the following error in kern.log of domU when booting a domU:

Re: calculating the needed swiotlb in dom0
I just found out that setting swiotlb=128 in dom0 grub.conf allowed me to
run my mythtv domU with additonal options to ivtv:
in /etc/modprobe.d/options
options ivtv enc_mpg_buffers=8
Setting this to any higher value causes a kernel panic. I want to be able
to specify
options ivtv enc_mpg_buffers=16 enc_vbi_buffers=8
How much swiotlb do I need? Is there a way to figure this out or is it just

My case: Suse 9.3 "kernel panic - not syncing: VFS
Hi, Tom
I recently got SUSE-Xen running. During the trial I got similar error:
"kernel panic - not syncing: VFS:
Unable tomount root fs on unknown-block (3, 1)"
This was fixed when I add to xen-config file this line:
# Optional ramdisk.
ramdisk = "/boot/initrd-xen"
It might be commented out if you use the config file example "xmexample1".

Information Request - domU configuration variables
Hi all, I''m new to Xen but with trial and error (and a lot of googling)
I have a debian host server (dom0) working with a debian guest server
(domU). My big thing I struggled with was trying to get the domU to
boot from an .iso or a cd-rom so I can setup different OS''s. Like I
said, I managed to get things working but know I''m trying to understand
what I did and what

Can Ctrl - ] to exit console be changed?
Hello list,
Today I was doing some troubleshooting of a service on a dom-u and
noticed that I couldn''t exit a telnet session because ctrl - ] just
dropped me out of console. When I went back into console, I was still in
the telnet session. Was using telent to see why monitors were reporting
an invalid greeting on some services.
Eventually the telnet session would time out, or I could

Xen Software Virtualization
I have a brand new load of Fedora core 5 using the Xen that comes stock with
the OS. When I try to boot a guest domain I receive: Error: Error creating
domain: Not an HVM capable platform, we stop creating! I understand you need
a CPU capable of hardware virtualization to do this out of the box, but my
non-hardware virtualization capable CPU is not horribly old (2 years) and I
read you can use

Windows license on Xen 3.3
Hi all, I would like to run 10 x Windows 2003 server(enterprise edition)
guests VM on top of my Xen3.3 box. Each guest vm need 5 terminal service
connections.
I am not sure how to buy the guest license. I think 2 possible ways, can
anyone give some idea to me:
1. buy 10 x Enterprise edition license and buy 5 TS CAL to each window
license
2. buy 1 x datacenter edition license
