How HVM domain distingush ioemu disk and VBD disk
Hi, From cset 10921, ioemu: prefix is removed from disk config in /etc/xen/xmexample.hvm. Now HVM VBD driver is available, this thus raises a question: how would HVM domain know if one disk is a qemu-dm disk or a VBD disk? From current implementation, qemu-dm will recognize disk had, hdb, hdc, hdd, and VBD drive can recognize all disk (had~hdd, hde, hdf ...) . So the result is: qemu-dm will

[PATCH] [IOEMU] Allow blktap to be able to be booted as systemvolume for PV-on-HVM(TAKE 3)
Hi All, I sent the patch to make blktap work with PV-on-HVM. I corrected the part that had been pointed out in the Xen community. ・All xvdN disk is looked like hdN. ・All tap disks are checked.(tap:aio, tap:sync, tap:vmdk, etc.) We cannot use blktap for the volume of the system with PV-on-HVM and are embarrassed. Could you apply this patch? Or, please give the comment to me. Signed-off-by:

LVM + kickstart -> dom0 && domUs
centos-virt, I'm trying to create/install domU guests all in "one" step, following Daniel's wiki page (I've found these pages really helpful, BTW): http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Xen/InstallingCentOSDomU I have a few questions about this process: (1) How would it be modified (w/respect to defining the disk in the domain configuration file) to use a disk layout where dom0

Xen and multiple block devices
Hello, CentOS 5.0 on x86_64 I'm trying to set up Xen paravirt guests with access to 2 block devices: One for / and one for swap. The block devices are LVM LVs, but that shouldn't matter. When I create the guest using either virt-manager or virt-install, I get asked which device to use for xvda. But I want more block devices: xvdb for swap. I know how to add this as an option to the

HVM --> PV, success on 1st time, failed on 2nd time
Hello list, I''m having a perplexing problem. I''m currently trying to install Gentoo Linux on XenServer 5.6 fp1. When I''ve compiled the kernel, I shutdown, eject CD, activate PV mode, and turn on. It worked, except for the fact that I forgot to change the entries in /etc/fstab to point to /dev/xvd?. So I shutdown, change back to HVM, and reboot into Gentoo''s

[LLVMdev] OrcJIT in LLVM C bindings
Hello, I was wondering if there is someone already working on putting the new OrcJIT APIs in the LLVM-C bindings? Also, is there a general consensus to also add C bindings when new major features are added? Hayden -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... xen_emul_unplug on xen 4.1, HVM guest 2.6.38
I am running Xen 4 and want users to be able to install arbitrary HVM images. We want both PV and emulated drivers to appear. The reason for this is for compatibility with images that were prepared for Xen 3.3, which assume emulated devices exist at boot time (particularly for running the boot loader). If I do not specify on the boot line xen_emul_unplug=never, then under some guest OS''s

xen device mapping/translation
Hello, list. Yesterday I was pleased to see that Centos has released official images at the aws marketplace. Nice job. Today I started playing with the Centos 6.3 image ( https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/B00A6L6F9I, on which I plan to deploy a gluster cluster in production soon) and noticed a weird thing. EBS Volumes attached to sd<X> are translated to xvd<Y> at the OS level.

[LLVMdev] OrcJIT in LLVM C bindings
Thanks, David. I'd be happy to add the bindings .. is there a general way we add them? Or do you just scrub the API and make sensible judgements to the API? Exporting data from R into an Excel File on Mac
Dear R Professionals, I am currently an intern at the University of Rhode Island and I need to know how to export data from R into an Excel file. As it is my understanding, xlsReadWrite is not available for mac. Is there another package available for mac users to be able to perform this function. [LLVMdev] stability of llvm ir across releases
Are you saying the textual form of IR can change, but bitcode doesn't? I don't know what you mean by assembly syntax. Is there a changlog entry when the textual IR changes? Improve JIT C API
Lang, aren't you going to be the major (only?) player when it comes to Orc APIs, if you're not opposed to it having them in the C bindings proper will certainly help. That's my vote, I understand it is different from the previous cases but the API surface area here is relatively small. [LLVMdev] stability of llvm ir across releases
Is it safe to assume that LLVM IR will live more-or-less the same for most releases, and that significant changes will be communicated? Or is it something that can change at any time and you must not rely on it ever being same. To me, it seems like the IR has evolved slowly but no spectacularly large changes were made in the 1-1.5 years I've been watching it, -- sure some experimental patch
