Debian 6 & XCP
So i successfully upgraded my Debian vm''s to Debian 6 on XCP 1.0, but when i try to install a new clean one it always fails. Why is this? The VM won''t even start, while i used the Debian 6 squeeze template. Is this even possible? plotting/examining residuals of a mixed generalised linear model
Dear R users, I'm hoping that more experienced users will be able to assist me in examining the model fit of a mixed generalised linear model. The example using the data 'bacteria' within the MASS package will hopefully illustrate what I would like to acheive; library(MASS) library(nlme) attach(bacteria) # y being output and the trt - treatment group being an explanatory variable.

ignoring file times - but still examining content
Hello. I would like to transfer files which have changed on another box. The rsync man page says: --size-only ..This is useful when starting to use rsync after using another mirroring system which may not preserve timestamps exactly.. Which is my situation. My problem is that the size-only switch (clearly) ignores files with different content, but that have the same size. I'd like to

This change has the effect of adding some complexity to the callback routines. The original callback passed an opaque argument which was a private item for the use of the controlling mechanism and its callback function. This change removes this and specifies only an fd. While it''s possible for the controlling mechanism to use the fd as an index to find internal data structures, this is

How to examine crash dump of Centos Kernel
Hi, I have been able to successfully use crash to examine a crash dump of kernel-PAE-2.6.18-92.1.6.el5 using the following command: crash /boot/System.map-2.6.18-92.1.6.el5PAE /usr/lib/debug/lib/modules/2.6.18-92.1.6.el5PAE/vmlinux ./vmcore I then installed the package kernel-debug-2.6.18-92.1.6.el5 and rebooted with that (there is no PAE debugging kernels in the repository). I reproduced my

Install ubunto domU
Dear *, I''m more used to work with RedHat like OSes. Still, I did not denied the request from a user who wants a domU based on ubunto. I usually use virt-install to do the job, with a script similar to this one: #!/bin/sh BASE=SL-4.7-i386-pv \ virt-install --nographics \ --nonsparse \ --paravirt \ --noreboot \

Default libexec dir
I know that I can use --libexec=dir arg when running configure for openssh code. However, on my ubuntu OS, it seems sshd is using /usr/local/libexec as the default libexec dir when I do not provide --libexec=dir during the configure cmd. Can it not use the default /usr/libexec dir instead?

Bug#805508: [PATCH] tools: allow configure time choice of libexec subdirectory.
Currently we hardcode various paths such as $libexec/xen/{bin,boot}, however some downstreams (notably Debian) would like instead to install things into $libexec/xen-X.Y/{bin,boot} as part of allowing multiple versions of the tools packages to be installed. Since this currently involves patching configure its a bit fiddly, provide a configure option for the leaf dir instead, name it

How to exec /usr/libexec/dovecot/imap with specific maildir location
Once upon a time I could configure my mailer to access my historical archives by running something like ssh $mailserver MAIL=maildir:~/Maildir-archive dovecot --exec-mail imap I need to run /usr/libexec/dovecot/imap manually now, and I've fixed that a while ago for my normal email access. But I've just had cause to go back to my archives for the first time in a while... and realised
