trouble with predict.l1ce
Dear R-help, I am having trouble with the predict function in lasso2. For example: > data(Iowa) > l1c.I <- l1ce(Yield ~ ., Iowa, bound = 10, absolute.t=TRUE) > predict (l1c.I) # this works is fine > predict (l1c.I,Iowa) Error in eval(exper,envir, enclos) : couldn't find function "Yield" And I have similar trouble whenever I use the newdata argument in

Need sub for virtual box
Hi All, I am running Virtual box on a CentOS 5.5 x64 bit host. The guest is 23 bit Windows Server 2008 SP2 (not R2). Virtual Box bug 7606 is causing a customer of mine serious financial harm. http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/7607#comment:3 I have tried in vain month or month over month to get Oracle to sell me a tech support contract, so that we can get some priority on this issue.

KVM vs ESXi
Morning Everyone, I'm busy doing a rebuild of my home server and am tossing between VMware and KVM for this build. I already have experience with ESX, we use it at work, but I'm debating trying out KVM for a while. The server itself is a budget build using a Supermicro X8SAX board w/ i7-950 & 12GB RAM, LSI 3081 SAS RAID (1068e based), rolled into a NorcoTek 16 Bay SAS case. Not fancy

Recommendation for a Linux alternative to Centos - ATH9K disaster
I persuaded a reluctant friend to buy a new computer. I enthusiastically extolled the joys and benefits of Centos and promised to install it on his new machine - dual booting with Micro$oft Windoze 7. His super-duper new laptop arrived. Acer, AMD 4 core, fast etc. but not as nice looking as my impressive HP DV5. The wireless refused to connect. After 8 hours on Saturday I could sometimes see

xen and atl1
Hello list, did someone have a similar issue like I have? -> Bought an AMD X2 3600+ and an Asus M2V (with Attansic L1 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter). Installed Centos 5 64_x86 and build atl1 from this source -> http://www.hogchain.net/attansic/AtL1Linux_v1.0.41.0.tar.gz After an insmod atl1 Centos say good bye with a kernel panic. I could only remind that there stand "Bad RIP value."

AW: xenified 2.6.29 ready to use tar.gz
Hi Daniel, i''ve tested your kernel with slight modifications to your .config (-> domU only) on 64bit 3.2.1 and 3.3 as guest kernel. Compared to the classic 2.6.18.8 the guests are consuming about 25% more CPU, network IO increased by about 15%, disk IO also. Memory footprint is about 10% less. Maybe there are better caching strategies built into this 2.6.29. I''d like to try

Program believed to work in Wine, but not on my EeePC
I'm trying to use Wine on an EeePC 701 in advanced mode. I think my Wine installation is basically OK, because I copied Windows Freecell (which was originally written as a test of the Win32s subsystem of course) across and it runs OK. The program I actually want to run (Laridian PocketBible) has been reported as working by other Wine users. It doesn't for me. My guess is that the EeePC

[PATCH] OCFS2: Pagecache usage optimization on OCFS2
Hi. I introduced "is_partially_uptodate" aops for OCFS2. A page can have multiple buffers and even if a page is not uptodate, some buffers can be uptodate on pagesize != blocksize environment. This aops checks that all buffers which correspond to a part of a file that we want to read are uptodate. If so, we do not have to issue actual read IO to HDD even if a page is not uptodate

CentOS on the Asus Eeepc ...
We talked earlier on IRC about the Asus Eeepc I think the idea was to start a wiki page with at least informations regarding the Eeepc. So here it is : http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops/Asus/Eeepc (not linked from the CentOS on Laptops wiki page yet though , still a draft ;-) ) I had to modify the installer initrd.img to include the atl2.ko module for the wired nic to install from my local

Dear list, I wonder if somebody has succeeded in installing R on an eeePC (Xandros desktop). Searching via Rseek (term eeePC) and in eeePC forums (term Cran) left me without proper hits. Best wishes, Walter.
