ntpserver in domainU vm
Hello all, I try to set a ntp server in domainU, but other vms cannot synchronizes with the ntpserver VM. When I choose to set ntp server in domain0, synchronization can be done. Why is that? I install xcp-xapi 1.5 on ubuntu server 12.04 64-bit. Many thanks! clayton claytonly _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xen.org

Trying to get a grasp on NTP server/client access control options
Hi, I'm currently sinking my teeth into NTP, to build a local time server. So far, configuring a local NTP server and getting the clients to connect to it works well. Now, I'm thinking about securing the whole thing. BTW, I made a copy of the original ntp.conf file and started my own from scratch. Right now, I have five printed books opened on the corresponding chapters (Carla

What permissions should be assigned? AD DC in a container: NTP
Hai Viktor, I've seen some answers already and all are correct. What i would do different here, when running in a container.. apt-get remove --purge ntpd ;-) The hosts that are running AD DC containers these need all up to use the same time source. And you dont install ntpd, you still have the same time in you AD. NTPD is not obligated to setup AD DC's. Its obligated to have

grandstream sip phone (NTP)
I have solved the time server problem with the Grandstream by having my * box's NTP service mirror a public NTP server. I had to do this because my phones are all on the 192.168 subnet, which is non-routable. For example, assuming that the NTP service is configured and running on your * box, create an NTP mirror which allows access from machines on 192.168.10.X by adding the following

chronyd configuration as a local ntp server
'Modern' NTP allows for all sorts of updates to NTP servers, with all sorts of attacks. So to prevent even local hosts from making changes to your NTP server, there is the restrict instead of allow command. Its intent is to limit what the server will accept from a host in the address range instead of allowing any command from within that range. I use this on my Centos6 servers. I

Centos 7 and ntp
I've curious about where and how Centos 7 gets its ntp configuration from. When I installed the operating system, I went through this page and told it to use "network time", as shown: http://media.if-not-true-then-false.com/2014/07/06-centos-7-date-and-time-748x560.png I just discovered that i don't actually have ntp installed on this computer, though the rpm does exist when I
