new kernel on Fedora 10 domU
Hi, I installed Fedora 10 as domU on CentOS 5.3. I need new 2.6.25.14 kernel under domU (in order to patch it for MPLS protocol). I followed advice on http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Kernel.org_Linux_on_Xen, and compiled kernel with XEN options enabled under domU. I got all relevant packages in /boot and /lib/modules, but when I try to boot virtual machine I got this error: Error starting

domU custom kernel: Kernel panic - not syncing: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.
Hello, To compile a custom kernel, I downloaded 2.6.29.1 from kernel.org and followed the tutorial at: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Kernel.org_Linux_on_Xen Used a supposedly working .config file for the compilation (generated by my provider to compile his xenU kernels), set /dev/xvd* device nodes both in the domU conf file (disk, root): disk = [

Question about backporting pci passthrough fix to 2.6.18
Hi, I have a question about the bug: http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1632 This is marked as fixed in the pv-ops kernel. I am working for a company developing a xen based virtualisation solution. Unfortunately the design is tied to CentOS and there is resistance to upgrade to > 2.6.31 kernel. My question is whether it is possible for me to try to backport the fixes for

Need some clarifications regarding VT-d requirements for PCI passthrough in Xen 4.1
Hello, I am looking into building a workstation using Xen to host several operating systems. Looking at the pci passthrough requirements of Xen4.1 on the VTdHowTo<http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/VTdHowTo>page, I am a little puzzled with the fact that only Intel Core2Duo (with VT-x), Core2Quad, i7 and Core i5 (vPro Brand) CPU''s are supported while motherboards with the i55x0

VGA controller via pci passthrough in domU
Hi, is it possible to use a vga controller in domU via pci passthrough? What''s about nvidia/ati kernel modules? I tried to hide a ati radeon 9200 in dom0 and use it in domU but X fails to start with the following error (seems to be unrelated to the vga hardware): xf86OpenConsole: Cannot open /dev/tty0 (No such file or directory) Thanks & Regards Daniel

I started a new thread because this not a pv-ops dom0 anymore. I''m running Andrew Lyon''s 2.6.31-4 patches for a non-pv-ops kernel. Got it again, after issuing "poweroff" from the domU. PCI passthrough to domU does not work with XEN 3.3
Hi! As dom0 I''m running Ubuntu Hardy withe xen 3.3 from backports. Reason to using xen 3.3 is that I could get Intrepid stock kernel to work as domu with xen 3.2. Now the problem I have is that I can''t passthrough PCI-devices to my domu. If I run lspci in the domu nothing is returned. I''ve tried to use the kernel from Hardy (2.6.24-21-xen) and stock kernel from
