How to know which interface DomU sees the Vif device
Is there a way to dinamically know on which network interface domU sees the Vif Dom0 "gives" to them. Ex: on Dom0: Vifname: vif111.0 on DomU: vif111.0 on network interface : eth0 Best Regards, Diego Dias _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Bug#1042842: network interface names wrong in domU (>10 interfaces)
Package: xen-utils-4.17 Version: 4.17.1+2-gb773c48e36-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainers, On one of our domUs we discovered that the network interface names were wrongly assigned since recreating the domU after an upgrade to bookworm. If over 10 network interfaces are configured the mapping (dom0) vifX.10 <-> eth10 (domU) does not apply anymore. Instead the interfaces on dom0 are

xen domU ID and static routing
Hi, I use a EQ 4 dedicated root server by hetzner with ubuntu jaunty. I installed xen 3.3 with debian kernel and brought up 3 domUs. Now comes networking... Hetzner does not allow bridged networking so I have to use routed mode in xen. No Problem so far, but the Problem actually is: When I bring up a domU the routing table is created by the xen-script vif-routing. The network interface name

Fully virtualized domU Linux network (VLAN) trouble
Hi, I have a 64bit Debian Lenny server with two physical network interfaces, one is connected to a switch without VLANs (eth0), the other (eth1) is connected to a switch with tagged VLANs (eth1). I''m running a couple of paravirtualized VMs that have no problem using the eth0 interface (bridged). I''m also running a couple of fully virtualized VMs, one being a Linux box (with a

CentOS 6 domU on Debian 6 dom0 not working
Hi all, Has anyone managed to get CentOS 6 domU (i.e. guest) working on a Debian 6 do0? Both OS''s are 32bit and I''m running XEN 4.0.1 with HVM support. A CentOS 5.6 domU works fine on this very same server though. When I start CentOS 6, I get the following error: newusaxen:~# xm create -c /xen/genocide.cfg Using config file "/xen/genocide.cfg". xenconsole: Could

XEN multiple bridge problem - VM won' start!
Hi, I've been using CentOS & Xen on a server that has 2 VM's configured. The default configuration includes one physical iface that is propagated (by a default bridge) to the VM's. Since I wanted to configure additional physical iface, define a new bridge and propagate it to the viface-s of the VM's, i configured the bridge/phys. iface and brought it up (here are

Anyone able to NFS boot on xen 4.x ?
Has anyone been able to get domU NFS boots working with any version of Xen 4.x? If so, can you please post your config? Both the dom0 Xen version & kernel, as well as the domU config file. I''ve spent a lot of time running through all the docs, HOWTO''s and published configs and assorted patches for Ubuntu 9x-10x and Xen 4x trying NFS booting with each. I''m not going

Must have been asked before, but I can''t find the solution
I''m attempting to migrate from vmware to xen, however I need to be able to run more than one bridge. Think of it this way: xen0 xenU-1 xenU-2 xenU-3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Inside_bridge_1: eth0 vm1_eth0 vm2_eth0 virtual_switch_2: vm1_eth1 vm2_eth1 vm3_eth1 Outside_bridge_3: eth1 vm2_eth2 vm3_eth0 Now, I can modify the existing

xl and vifname
Hello, While using xen 4.1-testing.hg (r23202) I noticed that the ''vifname'' config value is not handled by xl, but is handled by xm. Is there a workaround or patch for this? My firewall and scripts depend on static vifnames. XM works good - it adds multiple interfaces to multiple bridges and configures them appropriately. But with xl it differs -- here only tap devices are

network problems
So, I have been running into network problems for a while on 4 boxes that I installed xen on so that some engineers have places to test code. This particular problem is happening on all 4 of these boxes. (although, it isn''t happening on an older box running xen from debian etch). What appears to be the problem is that traffic is getting dropped between the vif#.0 interface in dom0

order of network interfaces in domU messed up?
Hi, until now, i have been using Xen 3.0.2. Now i upgraded to Xen 3.0.4. Can anybody confirm, that the ordner in the config files for the network interfaces has not changed? My config file used to read: vif = [ ''bridge=xenbr0'', ''bridge=xenbr1'' ] So inside the DomU, eth0 was attached to xenbr0 on the host and eth1 was attached to xenbr1. Now i upgraded to

routing problem with domU bridged to two networks
As I received no response on the general CentOS list, I'll repost it here as the question is about Xen virtual machine routing. This is my network setup: http://pastebin.com/kyWpTQYU Lets assume my dom0's eth2 public ip is 1.2.3.33 and my dmz network 11.22.33.96/255.255.255.224 . I have created NAT from my LAN with iptables. You can see my /etc/sysconfig/iptables here:

Xen 3.3.0 cpu cache problems
Dear Xen users, I have a problem with "Xen 3.3.0". All domU (paravirt) only have "32 KB" of cache instead of "6144 KB" as listed in dom0. This is really noticeable under load since the system tends to be really slow. I did not have this problem with "Xen 3.2.1". I''m using the same domU configuration files for the new and the old installation.
