How do I configure additional serial ports?
I have installed two 4-port serial cards (http://www.startech.com/ Product/ItemDetail.aspx?productid=PCI4S550&c=US) on a CentOS 4.4 system. The hardware appears to be recognized correctly, as kudzu added 2 entries to /etc/sysconfig/hwconf and lscpi shows both cards (output of lspci -vv for both cards included at the end of this email): # lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation

PCI passthrough working on Xen 3!
Thanks to the kind person(s) who worked on this. I am using PCI passthrough right now and it works. I hope support is added for VT domains too; That would be extremely useful. So far I have tried a NIC, USB, and PCI Video. The NIC works flawlessly. USB works as long as the devices are present at the time the domain is started. Hotplugging USB devices seems not to work. 'virsh capabilities' on Debian Wheezy-amd64 reports different cpu to Wheezy-i386 (on same hardware)
Hi On a range of Dell servers containing Intel 64bit processors, 'virsh capabilities' reports the cpu differently on Debian Wheezy-amd64 and Wheezy-i386. The results given by the Wheezy-i386 version seem very wrong (since n270 is an Atom processor). Apart from architecture, the package versions of libvirt-bin are identical: 1.2.1-1~bpo70+1. /usr/share/libvirt/cpu_map.xml files are

lastest xen unstable crash
Hi everyone, I was trying to build a new machine but the system keeps rebooting. I used the lasted unstable version from xen-unstable.hg. I have tried with Fedora 16 (kernel 3.3.0-8) and Xubuntu 11.10 (3.0.0.17-generic). The output to my serial console is attached. Glusterfs 2.0 hangs on high load
Hello! After upgrade to version 2.0, now using 2.0.1, I'm experiencing problems with glusterfs stability. I'm running 2 node setup with cliet side afr, and glusterfsd also is running on same servers. Time to time glusterfs just hangs, i can reproduce this running iozone benchmarking tool. I'm using patched Fuse, but same result is with unpatched.

More than doubling performance with snow
Hey my R buddies, I installed the "snow" and "rpvm" package on my Lenovo Thinkpad T400 today. The experiment below gave me a surprise. The time consumed by serial processing was several times larger than that taken by parallel processing. I'm very curious how this happened. Thank you very much. > library(snow) > > cc <- makePVMcluster(2) > > temp <-
