Building Xen from source
I''m a Xen newbie, still trying to get oriented. I''m especially interested
in building from sources, and I''m looking for some clarifications. Does
anyone here build from sources, or should I perhaps subscribe to the
developer''s list? At the moment, I''m mainly interested in just being a Xen
user because I need to get up to speed here before even

Samba + Quickbooks file problems
I updated samba to samba-2.0.7-4 (RedHat RPM). That didn't help.
I changed the file ownership to user.group from user.user. That didn't help.
I changed the file permissions to -rwxrwxr-- as you had suggested, and then
it worked.
(QuickBooks 99 needs *both* the file permissions set as noted *and* the
ownership also.)
However, when everyone closes QuickBooks the QBI file is deleted, and

controllers, models and views in plugins
Hello all,
Is it possible to package controllers, models and views in a plugin? The
tutorials for plugins seem rather sparse at the moment...
I''ve written a form "widget" that I''ve been using as a partial that I would
like to reuse in other projects. I was thinking about making a component
out of it, but I need to be able to access some of the form data that it

Repeat core dumps due to libgcrypt?
Hi, sorry. I have spent about 4 hours googling, and had no luck.
I'm getting repeat core dumps out of smbd, and nothing I've gotten from
the log file has successfully pointed me at any indication that anyone
else has posted about this problem before.

RPM upgrade question
I upgraded my samba package on my RedHat 6.1 installation via RPM. I used
the samba-2.0.7-20000425.i386.rpm file. I had to first uninstall the
packages:
samba-common-2.0.5a-12
samba-client-2.0.5a-12
because of package dependencies. I'm guessing, then, that the
samba-2.0.7-20000425 package includes the files that had been included
separately with the common and client packages. Is this

debian unstable 3.0.4-3 panics
Hi All,
I had been doing some testing with the Debian 3.0.4-x versions of samba.
On two sepearte systems, running different configs, I've found that smbd
panics unless the [printers] section is removed from smb.conf. Errors
generated as follows...
(System #1) Server role: ROLE_DOMAIN_MEMBER
Smb.conf...

Do you want something that old? 2.0.17 came out in 2011. I run
Oracle Linux 6.9 (basically RHEL without the trademarks) -- if you're
comfortable building from source, GnuPG-2.2.5 wasn't hard. This is

mod_gnutls and named based virtual hosts on HTTPS
All,
For anyone interested, there is an rpm in the CentOS testing repository
for mod_gnutls for CentOS 5.
It allows named based virtual hosting for HTTPS (Single IP, multiple
sites and certificates).
The idea to build the RPMS came from this article:
http://www.g-loaded.eu/2007/08/10/ssl-enabled-name-based-apache-virtual-hosts-with-mod_gnutls/
Here is a guide for installing and using the new

vorbis-tools-1.1.1 build mechanism stubbornly refuses to build with FLAC, ogg123, speex
Hello,
I am trying build vorbis-tools-1.1.1 in the framework of my tool (see signature).
The essence of the tools is that it builds and install everything locally, and, of
course, it uses the available mechanisms to specify search paths for both headers
and libraries; the tool first builds dependencies abd then the target itself.
So, for example, 'configure' for vorbis-tools-1.1.1 is
