debuginfo and debuginfo-common for PAE with systemtap
I want to use systemtap on a 5.3 system but cannot find supporting
kernel-PAE-debuginfo or kernel-debuginfo-common packages. Am I being a
noob, or do these not exist for the PAE kernel?

Badness in i8042_panic_blink at drivers/input/serio/i8042.c: 992
Hey all,
Just wanting to add my 2 cents here. I have a X/OS 4 Dev box running on a P3 550 and 512MB. Started getting this error when I upgraded the kernel to 2.6.9-42.0.10.EL.XOS. added the nmi_watchdog=0 to the grub boot line and all is fine now. A strange side effect seems to be the system load has dropped by 0.5 - 1.0 since the change. may only be noticable on my box because of the older arch

[BUG] Xen/Linux selfdescruction after not finding i8042 aux with 32GB of RAM
Currently the work around seems to be to add i8042.noaux to the kernel
command line. If someone wants to investigate, please do so.
As secondary problem I think it would be wise to put a big f*cking
warning that Xen + Linux + GCC 4.2+ is one big problem.

install_printer_drivers.pl and 2.2.4 issues
Hello -
I've been working on getting ready to cut our 60+ Samba servers over
from the old style printers.def approach to the new printer drivers
databases. However, I'm have a hard time uploading the packages onto the
server using the install_printer_drivers.pl script from Imprints 0.0.9b.
To make sure I wasn't packaging them wrong I used the
imprints.sourceforge.org server to get

Update from 5.2 to 5.3 kernel not on mirror
I have tried today and at least twice last week since the release of 5.3
on Tuesday and got past the yum update glibc step just fine and have
already done yum clean all several times and get through the first part
of the yum update where you have to answer y and then it downloads all
of the packages it seems but errors out and says that the kernel is not
available on any mirrors.

Keep lossing wireless - ipw3945
Sunday I updated my kernel to 128.1.16 (I had to reboot so it was time
to update). No problems with wireless in my home.
Monday I started traveling to IEEE 802 plenary, and I have lost my
wireless numerous times needing to reboot.
The symptom is the radio light goes off. Back before the kernel update,
this would happen sometimes at home while on battery, and I would just

Removing old kernels
I have the following kernels on my /boot:
2.6.18-128.1.6
2.6.18-92.1.18
2.6.18-92.1.22
I'm low on /boot space and need to remove the oldest version. It
appears that I cannot use yum to remove since all of the versions are
the same (only the release is different). I believe that I can use rpm
to remove the old version, but I also need to remove them from the
grub.conf. Any other

Question on installing 2.6.18
Hi,
I have a need to install 2.6.18 kernel.
After I configure, make, make modules, make install (all that is good).
The last thing I do is 'make install'. This also modifies grub.conf and
adds an entry for my new kernel. However it leaves the old kernel as still
the default. Is there a way to have it automatically set my new kernel
as the default in grub.conf so when I reboot the new
