PV-GRUB chainloading Grub2
Hey guys, what I am trying to do is a chainload into grub2 installation in a DomU. So far I determined, PV-GRUB does not understand grub2''s grub.cfg notation. So I created a dummy menu.lst which has the needed root kernel and initrd rows and then referenced this to the DomUs config. The main intention to do this, is to be able to use kernel upgrades without touching the menu.lst for

pv-grub will cause page fault if build with flag -fstack-protector
Hi, List, In checking the page fault problem when using pv-grub to start domU in opensuse12.3[1], found that the problem is caused by ''-fstack-protector'' flag which is introduced in rpm build: export EXTRA_CFLAGS_XEN_TOOLS="$RPM_OPT_FLAGS" export EXTRA_CFLAGS_QEMU_TRADITIONAL="$RPM_OPT_FLAGS" export EXTRA_CFLAGS_QEMU_XEN="$RPM_OPT_FLAGS" with

PV Lenny 32 bits into 64 bits dom0 - Grub / kernel problem
Hello, I can''t solve my problem. I want a 32 bits Lenny domU into a 64 bits Lenny dom0. I plan to use pygrub for that (xen 3.2.1). So, I tried to debootstrap a 32 bits domU into a 64 bits dom0. debootstrap --arch=i386 --include=libc6-xen,firmware-bnx2,linux-image-2.6.26-1-xen-686,linux-modules-xen-686,linux-image-xen-686,grub --components=main,contrib,non-free lenny /mnt/xen

PCI passthrough to domU does not work with XEN 3.3
Hi! As dom0 I''m running Ubuntu Hardy withe xen 3.3 from backports. Reason to using xen 3.3 is that I could get Intrepid stock kernel to work as domu with xen 3.2. Now the problem I have is that I can''t passthrough PCI-devices to my domu. If I run lspci in the domu nothing is returned. I''ve tried to use the kernel from Hardy (2.6.24-21-xen) and stock kernel from

Match between Dom0 and DomU PV
I have a bit of a Xen theory question. I have a Debian 5 Lenny x64 Dom0 currently running two DomUs. One is an x64 built via Xen-tools, and it seems to be running great. The second (known as Alpha) is having some troubles, as I mentioned in my post "Ubuntu 8.04 DomU crash" to this list on 5/12/09. It is an x86/32 Ubuntu 8.04 that started life as an HVM and was rebuilt into a PV where

PV-Grub and multiboot kernels
Hello Xen-users, I am trying to load two executables into a single VM at different addresses. The goal is to pass control to the first executable, which will treat the second executable as data. Can PV-Grub be used to accomplish this? I suspect ordinary Grub should be able to do this, outside of Xen, with a configuration like this: menu.lst: title a multiboot test root (hd0,0)

PV-GRUB is really awesome, however I noticed that it spins at 100% cpu, even while just sitting at its prompt. Just a heads-up... Thanks, -Chris _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

pv-grub is also the best/only way to run hurd under xen: http://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/microkernel/mach/gnumach/ports/xen.html#index4h1 it's also the best way by far to run netbsd without a separate /boot Cheers, Brian Szymanski -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... xl and console problems with pv-grub?
Hi everyone, I just got this issue where pv-grub would not become visible after I did ''xl create -c host''. Turned out that Xen on Archlinux, for which I use a modified PKGBUILD, does not create /var/run/xen. So if you have this problem too then just let the xencommons rc script create that directory after each boot. At least it solved this problem. Sometimes things can be so
