domU unbootable after unknown error
I''ve done something apparently, but can''t for the life of me figure out what. Perhaps someone can help: I have an LVM based domU which has been working without problem for weeks. I made some final changes to it last week, shut it down and ran the following to create a backup image: dd if=/dev/VolGroup00/wspd of=mail2.img bs=1M At least this is the only thing I can

Has anyone been able to start a Fedora 16 VM in Xen PV?
All, I've had a heck of a time getting Fedora 16 to run as a guest VM under CentOS 5.7 host as a paravirtualized Xen guest. I believe the issue has something to do with Fedora 16 using grub2... When I attempt to start the VM (via xm create), I get this error: Using config file "/etc/xen/fedora-workstation". Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/pygrub",

A x86_64 processor can not run a x86_64 HVM
I own an Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+. I enabled SVM extensions on BIOS. I did a power cycle. xm dmesg shows me: (XEN) AMD SVM: ASIDs enabled (XEN) HVM: SVM enabled I run a 64 bit Xen kernel (OpenSuse 11). Xen version is 3.2.1_16881_04-8.6 I _can not_ run any x86_64 O.S on a HVM domU, because it appears something like this: "your cpu does not support long mode. use a 32bit

No bootloader with D-I in domU on part. RAID1
Hello. I just tried (as my first attempt in xenning) to set up a lenny amd64 domU on a partitionable Mirror RAID (/dev/md_d0p1 - /dev/md_d0p4), using the Debian installer from "people.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i/images/daily/". The partitions of the md will be represented inside the domU as /dev/xvda1-4 accordingly. The dom0 seems to run fine, it''s Xen 3.2.1 on amd64 lenny. The

AW: Increase size of file-based diskimage (with MBR, partitions + fs)
Hey I had the same problem some time ago. But here is a solution how to do that, but it''s a bit tricky! REQUIREMENT: THE SYSTEM PARTITION ON THE IMAGE MUST BE THE FIRST PARTITION, AFTER THAT THERE MUST BE ONLY SWAP PARTITIONS!!!! This setup would work, there should be no risk at all: Partition 1 on the image: / Partition 2 on the image: swap space This setup WONT''T WORK, YOU

.vhd will not boot in VM
We had a XCP 1.5 pool with 2 machines as hosts. The storage pool which as NFS mounted lost its ability to export the filesystem with the VM images on it. We contacted the vendor and we were able to restore it. However, they had recommended that we delete the XCP Pool, recreate it, add the hosts back in, and then mount the storage. That is where we are at now. We can see the storage and
