Re: [Xen-smartio] Problem with infiniband on Xen domU
Hi Lamia, Currently there is no direct InfiniBand access support in the Official Xen trees. You might want to have a look at our Xen-IB implementation. A preliminary version can be downloaded here: http://xenbits.xensource.com/ext/xen-smartio.hg Some information about its design and applications can be found here: High Performance VMM-Bypass I/O in Virtual Machines (Usenix 06), and A Case for

glusterfs over rdma ... not.
OK - finished some tests over tcp and ironed out a lot of problems. rdma is next; should be snap now.... [I must admit that this is my 1st foray into the land of IB, so some of the following may be obvious to a non-naive admin..] except that while I can create and start the volume with rdma as transport: ================================== root at pbs3:~ 622 $ gluster volume info glrdma

InfiniBand device in Xen
Hello, I''m trying to get working infiniband device in Xen. I have Xen v3 with 2.6.18 kernel. I export PCI device from Dom0 into DomU. I''ve enabled permisive device in Dom0. However, inserting infiniband module results in the following messages (with little more verbosity which I have added): pcifront pci-0: Installing PCI frontend pcifront pci-0: Creating PCI Frontend Bus

Display Frequency unstable
Hello, I have just installed xen with debian package. (linux-2.6.18-6-xen-686) Now, when i boot with the new entry "Xen 3.3.1", the display of my xorg is unstable. I have edited /etc/X11/xorg.conf and i have forced the frequency to 85 hz. When i launch display resolution in gnome, i see 1024*768@85hz. But my screen is very unstable. I''m thinking that configuring the display

DomU graphic interface ?
Hi, - Working on Xen 3.4 over Ubuntu 9.04 - I managed to get a Debian lenny domU working, but I can''t find a way to display it graphically... I mean, i can enter the console, commands are working, but I don''t really understand how to get something else than the console. When i try to do xm vncviewer lenny , i get the "Alarm clock" error. Is there something to modify

Problem to make the nvidia-driver (version 96) work with xen (3.3) on a X86 arch
Hello, I''ve got an AMD Athlon 1800+ (so no hardware virtualization) with a GeForce 2 MX on wich I''ve installed xen (3.3) based on a gentoo distro. The kernel is a 2.6.27. The Dom0 and DomU (both on gentoo with the same kernel version) works fine on command line but I wan''t to install the nvidia-drivers to use my TV-out. Searching the web I found patches made by nvidia

pciback module not working
This issue was brought up about a year and a half ago. So I''ll bring it up again and see if anything happens. I''ve got an infiniband network and am attempting to pass the infiniband card through the host and give it to the guest. I''m working with standard CentOS 5.2 on both guest and host with their provided xen (3.0.3 ish). I''ve also attempted to install the

Hi, I have a problem while doing a "make linux-2.6-xen-install". First of all, i did a "make linux-2.6-xen-config CONFIGMODE=menuconfig" I chose in Device Drivers menu -> Infiniband Support : If i choose all the options in module or built-in, i get the same results with make install. This error appears :

Are there source codes for Xen-IB?
Hi, I found a link: http://xenbits.xensource.com/ext/xen-smartio.hg for Xen-IB source codes, but it did''t exist anymore. Are there other ways to get the Xen-IB source codes? Thanks. Loop-vectorizer prototype for the EPI Project based on the RISC-V Vector Extension (Scalable vectors)
Hi all, At the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, we have been working on an end-to-end vectorizer using scalable vectors for RISC-V Vector extension in context of the EPI Project <https://www.european-processor-initiative.eu/accelerator/>. We earlier shared a demo of our prototype implementation  (https://repo.hca.bsc.es/epic/z/9eYRIF, see below) with the folks involved with LLVM

Hi all, On 11/5/20 10:32 AM, Roger Ferrer Ibáñez wrote: Hi Sjoerd, thanks for pointing us to this intrinsic. I see it returns a mask/predicate type. My understanding is that VPred intrinsics have both a vector length operand and a mask operand. It looks to me that a "popcount" of get.active.lane.mask would correspond to the vector length operand. Then additional "control

OFFTOPIC :: IB hardware choice
Hi! I would need an advice from those that use IB (as admins :) ) i have a choice between : 1. Mellanox InfiniHost? III Lx HCA card, single-port CX4, DDR, PCIe x8, mem-free, tall bracket, RoHS R5 2. QLogic Single Port 20 Gb InfiniBand to x16 PCI Express Adapter (Single Pack) aside the price is there anything else that could help me make a discrimination between this two? (these will be used in

Loop-vectorizer prototype for the EPI Project based on the RISC-V Vector Extension (Scalable vectors)
For RISC-V V and VE being explicit about %evl is important for performance & correctness and that is what VP does. The get.active.lane.mask intrinsic is used as a hint for the MVE, SVE backends to use hardware tail-predication (the backends reverse engineer that hint by pattern matching for get.active.lane.mask in the mask parameter of "some" masked intrinsics). IMHO, it's more

using Sweave, how to save a plot in a given size

The code is : \SweaveOpts{prefix.string = figs/plot, eps = FALSE, pdf = TRUE} <<partI, echo=FALSE ,fig=TRUE, include=FALSE>>= plotFunction() @ \includepdf[pages=-]{figs/plot-partI} The issue is

Clustering question \ dist(datmat)
Hello everybody. I am trying to cluster circular data (data points which are angles), thus i can not use the "dist" function in "mclust" to generate my distance matrix, I am using the function " Dij = 0.5*( 1 - cos(theta_i - theta_j)). The thing is "hclust" will not accept this distance matrix, i tried to put it in a data frame, but again i get an error message

Mellanox SR-IOV IB PCI passthrough in Xen - MSI-X pciback issue
Greetings Xen user community, I am interested in using Mellanox ConnectX cards with SR-IOV capabilities to passthrough pci-e Virtual Functions (VFs) to Xen guests. The hope is to allow for the use of InfiniBand directly within virtual machines and thereby enable a plethora of high performance computing applications that already leverage InfiniBand interconnects. However, I have run into some
