Zimbra benchmarking
Now that I have a working kvm setup, I thought I'd finally try how Zimbra works. This is mainly some microbenchmarking, so it may not have much to do with actual performance in real life. Setup: - 1GB memory given to kvm (from host's 2GB) - Intel Core 2 6600 (kvm uses only one CPU) - CentOS 5 - 15GB qcow2 image on XFS filesystem - Zimbra 5.0 RC2 RHEL5 x86_64 - Dovecot latest hg,

dbench & similar - as a valid benchmark
hi everybody would a tool such as dbench be a valid bechmark for gluster? and, most importantly, is there any formula to estimate raw fs to gluster performance ratio for different setups? for instance: having a replicated volume, two bricks, fuse mountpoint to volume via non-congested 1Gbps or even a volume on single brick with fuse client mountpoing locally what percentage/fraction of raw

R vs Python performance-wise
Hi, Has anyone run any R vs Python (numpy) tests? I'd love to see what the differences performance-wise are, specially handling large sparse matrices. Since both rely on external C code, there might not be much of a difference. If you know and use both languages, what are the main differences and what made you stick to one over another? I also noticed that there are strong libraries

Benchmarks for LLVM-generated Binaries
Have you seen the prototype for googlebenchmark integration I did in the past: https://reviews.llvm.org/D18428 <https://reviews.llvm.org/D18428> (though probably out of date for todays test-suite) +1 for copying the googlebechmark into the test-suite. However I do not think this should simply go into MultiSource: We currently have a number of additional plugins in the lit test runner such

Install Xen on VirtualBox?
Hey, Anyone tried before, is it successful? Also, Is it possible to use the CPU VT inside Xen if it is running inside VirtualBox? I want to setup such env. for testing purpose. Match between Dom0 and DomU PV
I have a bit of a Xen theory question. I have a Debian 5 Lenny x64 Dom0 currently running two DomUs. One is an x64 built via Xen-tools, and it seems to be running great. The second (known as Alpha) is having some troubles, as I mentioned in my post "Ubuntu 8.04 DomU crash" to this list on 5/12/09. It is an x86/32 Ubuntu 8.04 that started life as an HVM and was rebuilt into a PV where

blktapctrl not running
Hi, I am running XEN 4.1 on Debian 6 and I cannot find blktapctrl process running. xend is started. I installed XEN from 4.1 source following instructions here: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenParavirtOps http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Xen4.0 Should there be a blktapctrl process running in this version? The problem I have encountered is that I can create a domain on a raw disk image but

GPLPV xennet bsod when vcpu>15
Hello, I installed the signed drivers from http://wiki.univention.de/index.php?title=Installing-signed-GPLPV-drivers and I ran into a BSOD on a Windows 2008 Server R2 Enterprise domU with a large number of vcpu''s. The BSOD is related to xennet.sys. After some trials I found that it runs fine up to 15 cores. From 16 or more, the BSOD kicks in when booting the domU. The hardware (4 times

Noncentral t & F distributions
Dear List: The square of the noncentral t-statistic with noncentrality parameter \delta is a noncentral F with noncentrality parameter \lambda=\delta^2. So, t^2_{\nu,\delta} = F_{1,\nu,\lambda=\delta^2}. Consequently, it should follow that t^2_{1-\alpha/2,\nu,\delta} = f_{1-alpha,1,\vu,\lambda=\delta^2}. However, this is not what is happening with the following code. The central

install other OS to unprivileged domain
Dear all, I have set up one unprivileged Domain-1 with help of FedoraQuickStart and some help from you. Now I want to install some other OS to Domain-2. How can I install a different OS (say Redhat 7.3) onto a unprivileged domain? Do I have to copy all files from an existed installation to an image file? Thanks, Koala _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list

Usage of apply function with two matrices
Hello, I am struggling to overcome following problem: I have matrix Vf and matrix V, which both have 3 columns and I want to create a spline function basing on coordinates from this matrices (more precisely coordinates of function nr 1: x are taken from Vf[,1] and y are taken from V[,1] respectively), because function apply() base on 1 argument I made it in this way:

function and apply
Dear all    I think my problem is not complicated but I'm having difficulties to solve it. v is a vector: v=c(p1 , p2 , p3 , p4), and f  is a function: f : v -> w , where w=c(p1 , p2*(1-p1) , p3*(1-p2)*(1-p1) , p4*(1-p3)*(1-p2)*(1-p1))   I write the function f as: f<- function(w,x,y,z) {c(w,x*(1-w),y*(1-x)*(1-w),z*(1-y)*(1-x)*(1-w))} f(a,b,c,d) it

[PATCH nbdkit v2] common/bitmap: Don't fail on realloc (ptr, 0)
v1 was here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2019-September/msg00100.html In v2 I've changed the patch so it avoids calling realloc at all in this case. The patch is a bit longer this way. But I don't see any other alternative if we are to avoid having a "realloc wrapper" of some kind that we use everywhere, which I guess we should avoid because it makes plugins

uniroot
Hi, I am using the uniroot function in order to carry out a bivariate Monte Carlo simulation using the logistics model. I have defined the function as: BV.FV <- function(x,y,a,A) (((x^(-a^-1)+y^(-a^-1))^(a-1))*(y^(a-1/a))*(exp(-((1^(-a^-1)+y^(-a^-1))^a)+y^-1)))-A and the procedure is as follows: Randomly generate values of A~(0,1), y0 = -(lnA)^-1 Where: A=Pr{X<xi|Y=yi-1} and a is the
