XEN and suspend error
Hi all, I''m trying to run XEN on my Dell D610 laptop (fresh lenny install). I''m getting an odd event when xend starts : [........] suspend: event channel 20 This makes my laptop freezing, it rebooted until I add noreboot as an option in the grub kernel entry. I added a swap partition, thinking this will solve the problem, but it doesn''t... the /var/log/xen/xend.log

TBOOT and extlinux
Hi, I'm trying to get to the bottom of a problem using the combination of tboot (http://tboot.sf.net, trusted boot kernel for Intel TXT) and extlinux. TBOOT loads using the multiboot protocol, where the tboot "kernel" is loaded as the kernel, and the actual linux kernel and initrd are specified as modules. A working grub configuration looks something like:

lenny + xen reboots sometime
Hello, I have a problem with debian lenny, xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-i386, 32bit Dom0 und 32bit Domu debian lenny on a IBM BladeCenter. All is working fine and then sometimes the Blade reboots. When I add noreboot in the menue.lst in Dom0 grub then the Server stops working and I have to reboot manually. There are no error messages in the logs. The period the server reboots is variable. Sometime it

Then I ran "syslinux d:" from a Win98SE DOS-box to (try to) initialize the partition's boot record. And added this from a

A problem about xen no-iommu graphics card passthough
Hi! I want to make windows work with native graphics card on xen with no iommu (no vt-d) support. With many googling, I find that xen with Neocleuse 1:1 No-IOMMU passthough patches maybe can meet my requestment. I download and compile a copy of direct-io.hg source, and pass my graphics card to hvm

mirroring with LVM?
I'm pulling my hair out trying to setup a mirrored logical volume. lvconvert tells me I don't have enough free space, even though I have hundreds of gigabytes free on both physical volumes. Command: lvconvert -m1 /dev/vg1/iscsi_deeds_data Insufficient suitable allocatable extents for logical volume : 10240 more required Any ideas? Thanks!, Gordon Here's the output from the

[PATCH] builder: run/schedule a SELinux relabel if needed
If the guest uses SELinux, then make sure to run a relabel (or at least schedule one) after the image build: this way the template is relabelled, or at least it will do that at the next boot, without the need for the user to ask for a relabel. This just covers the case of building a new image with no additional operations on it though. --- builder/website/centos.sh | 2 ++

wow.exe Wont Run in Wine 1.2.1
Many months ago, my machine ran WoW 3.x flawlessly. Now however, with Linux, it wont run at all. I am using Wine 1.2.1 and WoW 4.0.1 installed fine with the downloader, and the launcher runs without a hitch (although the "play" button won't appear once in a while). But once the Launcher program attempts to run the wow.exe, I get nothing. No game, no error message. Here's my

Bug#606590: Upgrading from Lenny leaves xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-amd64 in and doesn't install 4.0
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64 Version: 4.0.1-1 Severity: serious Tags: squeeze Hi there! Upgrading from Lenny to Squeeze left my box with xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-amd64 installed, and I had to "apt-get install xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64" manually to have it installed after a dist-upgrade. This for sure, isn't the expected behavior. Also, after the dist-upgrade, I did: apt-get

strange partitioning problem
Hello listmates, Here's I am, trying to install Centos 6.2 64-bit on a server with 24 TB of disk RAIDed as RAID 6. So I get this 18 TB disk (the RAID is recognized as one disk) where I am trying to put my OS. And I can create a couple of partitions - let us say I defiine a 150 GB swap, a 150 GB "/", a 100 GB "/var". So far so good. Then I try to define the next one, say, a

[PATCH] builder: Rearrange how template-building scripts work.
Create a new directory (builder/template). Integrate all of the scripts into a single program, so that templates are generated more consistently. This also changes how the index file is generated. The script now generates the index file fragment and saves it under version control, and then generates the final index file by concatenating these. (Previously the index was written by hand which was

Status of R/W UFS
Is r/w to a UFS partition using 'guestmount' still an impossibility? From everything I've found, it seems to be something that is not possible at the moment. I was just wondering if that has changed or if there are plans to change that? Here is the issue I'm experiencing: ~# guestmount --rw -a ${disk_path}/${disk_name} -m /dev/sda4 /tmp/freebsd-master libguestfs: error:

LVM - how to change lv from linear to stripped? Is it possible?
Hi All. Currently I am trying to change a logical volume from linear to stripped because I would like to have a better write throughput. I would like to perform this change "live" without stopping access to this lv. I have found two interesting examples: http://community.hpe.com/t5/System-Administration/Need-to-move-the-data-from-Linear-LV-to-stripped-LV-on-RHEL-5-7/td-p/6134323
