acts_as_paranoid overrides ActiveRecord::Base??
Guys, I am trying to figure out what exactly does this line do at the end of "acts_as_paranoid" plugin? ActiveRecord::Base.send :include, Caboose::Acts::Paranoid::ActiveRecord My problem: I have some classes that I use acts_as_paranoid, and others with tagging support. Classes declared as taggable, throw error, which appears to be in the acts_as_paranoid version of the

acts_as_paranoid Unknown key(s): with_deleted
Trying this straight from the README: I have acts_as_paranoid in my model (Course), and added the deleted_at column. This is OK: Course.find_with_deleted(:all) Course.find(:all, :with_deleted => true) gives: ArgumentError: Unknown key(s): with_deleted from /opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activesupport-2.0.2/lib/ active_support/core_ext/hash/keys.rb:49:in `assert_valid_keys''

neverending i2/lighttpd problems
So after recompiling ruby a few times to get ssl and readline working, fighting with lighty for awhile, and learning a bit more about linux in the process, I think I''m really close to getting i2 up and running. However, when I try to access my wiki, I get either a blank page or an error 500 and the stack trace below gets sent to the log. If I can''t get this working soon

link_to_remote where the url contain a javascript variable
Ok, so I am basically trying to use ''link_to_remote'' and pass the value of a javascript variable as an argument. Something like that: link_to_remote "my_link", :update => ''my_div'', :url => { :action => "my_action", :var => ''my_var'' } Basically,

Concatenated key
Hi all, I started playing a couple days ago with Rails and it find it very interesting. But I''m a bit stuck with making it work with a concatenated primary key. I want to use my own names for the DB fields and I''m using SQL Server 2005. My tables look roughly like this: CREATE TABLE USERS ( USR_ID VARCHAR(25) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, USR_PASS VARCHAR(25) ) CREATE TABLE

render :partial + redirect_to :controller
This is of course disallowed, which I discovered only after nearly completing my spanking new ajaxified UI. What is the motivation behind this, and what is the best workaround? This UI does a scriptaculous drag-and-drop of items from a first div (div1) over to a second div (div2), which triggers the contents of div2 to be updated to reflect the drop. No prob, thus far. But then the

Get dialed numbers in AGI
Hi, I'm trying to write a AGI in PHP to get the numbers dialed (with read()), save it into a variable to insert it into a SQL server database. Here is a piece of the AGI. fwrite(STDOUT,"exec Read my_var|/sound_to_play|5|||15 \n"); fflush(STDOUT); $conn=odbc_connect('MSSQL', 'USER', 'PASS');

Can RMySQL be used for a paramterized query?
I have not found anything about this except the following from the DBI documentation : Bind variables: the interface is heavily biased towards queries, as opposed > to general > purpose database development. How to mock an object defined in the before_filter function?
Hello, I am trying to implement the following scenario, but I am stuck ... The thing is I want to initialize a variable @comment when the stub function "find_comment" is called. The way I do it below doesn''t work, since "before_filter :find_comment" returns true/false and @comment initialization is done inside it. Could you please give me a hint how to do it? One

Problem plotting curve on survival curve (something silly?)
OK this is bound to be something silly as I'm completely new to R - having started using it yesterday. However I am already warming to its lack of 'proper' GUI... I like being able to rerun a command by editing one parameter easily... try and do that in a Excel Chart Wizzard! I eventually want to use it to analyse some chemotherapy response / survival data. That data will not be

Aggregate Controllers
Hi, I''m developing a dashboard like page and basically want to combine the result of multiple actions on a page. I''ve done this so far: def index r1 = render_to_string :action => "action1" r2 = render_to_string :action => "action2" render :text => r1+r2 end This works, but now I want to render from other controllers and this is where
