Q: HOWTO manually boot SLES10 installation
Hi, in SLES10 YaST insists in "xorg-x11" being installed, even if the display is redirected to a remote host. So I thought: Can''t I do it simpler? I''m still new to XEN, but I started like this: mount the SLES10 DVD to /mnt, and use this configuration file: ----- disk = [ ''phy:/dev/system/as1,hda,w'', ''phy:/dev/hda,hdb,r'' ] memory

Build win-pv Error
Hi XEN-Community, I''m trying to build the actual version of the XEN gplpv (win-pv) drivers. I use the a Windows XP machine with the WinDDK 7600.16385.1 and Wix 3.0 like suggested in the BUILD.txt The building process itself seems to be working, at least there are no compiler error. (I just made the "makedist") Instead, the final *.msi files and the drivers itself are nowhere

GPLPV: XenNet Full on send - required = 3, available = 0
I saw some really bad things happening on our production servers. First dom0: Ubuntu xen1 2.6.24-24-xen Xen 3.4.0 compiled from source. I don''t remember exactly what GPLPV version was installed but I know for sure from early 10.x series. domU: Windows Server 2008 64-bit (Test mode enabled) Second dom0 has almost identical setup, thou on different hardware. No module xennet found for kernel 2.6.18.8-xen
Hi all, when I try to build an initial ramdisk with the option --with=xennet, I get the following error No module xennet found for kernel 2.6.18.8-xen I looked at the /lib/modules/2.6.18.8-xen/kernel/drivers/xen and there is no xennet module over there, which causes the problem. How can I get the xennet module? Thanks, Luca _______________________________________________ Xen-users

Xen networking experiment (with custom scripts and OpenVSwitch)
Hello everyone, Recently I have been testing my customized Xen 4.2 networking setup. It works pretty good and I would like to share it with anyone who is interested. The relevant files can be found here: https://github.com/slacks42/xenscripts Benefit: configure the Xen related networking devices with one understandable bash script. Please note that this is all still work in progress. For

My goal is to have apache with mod_proxy and balancer running on peth0 in dom0. Apache is spreading my connection to the backend domU''s, where the webservices are running. The connection

SLES10 guest OSes drop off network.
I am having issues with guest OSes running on SLES10 (Sun 4200) hosts. Periodically, the guest OS system drops off the network. From the general network it is not pingable, consequently, ssh fails. If however, I log into the SLES10 server that is hosting the guest OS and ssh to the guest OS, then it becomes immediately pingable and accessible to the rest of the network. Almost like the

routing and virtual machines: how to access dmz if bridged to two networks
I am not quite sure if this issue relates to iptables, routing or Xen virtual machines. Too many variables for my simple mind, so I'm asking some advice :) This is my network setup: Internet --- eth2 + CentOS dom0 / firewall / router + eth1 (xenbr1) --- LAN with private IPs --- separate file server and workstations + eth0 (xenbr0)

Debugging a XenU that goes to Zombie state

While writing this email, it crashed again. This time I had an ''xm console calcutta'' capturing the output. I read a suggestion in these archives suggesting that I can just

more of a statistics/display question
this is not really an R question but I imagine I would use R to do it. I have a loop that has thousands of iterations and after each iteration the results are a box leung pvalue a regression t-stat and a profit number so, i have 1000's of these sets of the 3 numbers above. obviously, the p-value varies from zero to 1. the t-statistic goes from about -3 to 3 and the profit numbers goes

received packet with own address as source address
Hi, we''re running 4 xen servers on our network with multiple network cards. During HighLoad we experince degeneration of inbound network traffic through our loadbalancer. I might found a reason for it, in Dom0 dmesg output looks as follows: [1157421.975910] eth0: received packet with own address as source address [1157421.975957] eth0: received packet with own address as source

xen hotplug scripts not working
Hello Everyone, I have set up a xen server with 10 physical network devices using the bridge mode of XEN. This is because I want to split and separate the network traffic for security reasons. Maybe the best way is to use pci back hide. But I want to understand what is going on here. For all testings I have only activated eth[0-3]. My first tests were successful. I have created a VM using

Xen over SuSE 10.3 - Can''t find drive to boot with...
Dear List-Colleagues: I have been working on installing Xen on Suse 10.3 for some time now. I am green as grass - both a total newbie to Xen and a relative newbie to Linux (as well as a total newbie to SuSE). Currently, I am at the point that when I click on the Xen entry in my grub loader I see Xen starting and running through much of its early setup. Eventually, however, it quits on
