iptables & kernel problems on Debian domU
Hi,
I have a Debian 4.0 XEN dom, which is giving me some strange errors on
the kernel when I try and use iptables, as such:
stats:/etc/snmp# iptables -L -v
Note: /etc/modules.conf is more recent than
/lib/modules/2.6.18-8.1.15.el5xen/modules.dep

How to make a custom DomU kernel.....
Here is what I am trying to accomplish, I want to run endian Firewall in my
domU. I have it loaded and running but when it boots up I have a few
modules that it doesn''t have MASQ helpers to be exact (I can list them if
anyone wants more info). I am using Fedora core 5 dom0 and domU kernel.
What I would like to do is to make a custom kernel for domU that would
contain all of the modules

Xen 4.0.1-rc5 w/ 2.6.32.16 dom0, DomU''s start paused
I run my production DomU''s using Xen 3.4.1 at the moment with the old
2.6.18.x dom0 kernel. I just built a new Xen version (4.0.1-rc5) with
jemerys git repo of 2.6.32.16 dom0 pvops kernel. When starting domains
the go instantly into a paused state and eventually i see this error on
the command line.

domU custom kernel: Kernel panic - not syncing: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.
Hello,
To compile a custom kernel, I downloaded 2.6.29.1 from kernel.org and
followed the tutorial at:
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Kernel.org_Linux_on_Xen
Used a supposedly working .config file for the compilation (generated by
my provider to compile his xenU kernels), set /dev/xvd* device nodes
both in the domU conf file (disk, root):

can ping domU VPS, but can''t SSH into it
Hi all,
A client just phoned me and said he could not SSH into his VPS, yet he
can ping it. So, I login to the host node, and check it out, can''t SSH
into. I shutdown iptables on the VPS (via xm console serverza.vm) but
still can''t SSH into it. I restart the VPS, still can''t SSH into it.
So, I check the host, and found this in /var/log/messages:

xen hvm domU and > 3 nic's... bug?
It seems to be a problem with kernel... I use the kernel-ml there
(5.5.6)... with kernel from centos-virt repo (4.9.*) it works without
this problem...

domU autostart with deps
Hi!
It is possible to start domU''s with dependencies?
I mean something like that:
1. start domU a
2. wait till domU a completely started
3. start domU b
4. wait till domU b completely started
5. start all other domU''s
How to do it?

Hi
I cant start a hvm domU with more than 3 nic's configured... why? it is
a bug?
With previous versions it was possible...
here the config - it is an opnsense (openbsd) hvm domU:
name = "fenrir.chao5.int"
uuid = "7aedcd03-54e8-4055-8d1b-37dd34194859"
maxmem = 2048
memory = 2048

Wich tuned profile for Dom0 and DomU
Hi
wich tuned profile are the best for dom0 and domU?
There are virt-host and virt-guest profiles for kvm, should I use them?
If yes, should I use in domU ever virt-guest or is for example
network-throughput profile better for a nfs/samba fs server inside domU
better?

I was surprised to see that this hadn't made it to the samba list yet.
Note I have not spent any time trying to confirm validity.

Xen 4.1.2 / Fedora 16 pv domU does not show Anaconda
Hi all. I''m mostly experienced with Xen 3.0-3.4 so forgive my
ignorance. I''m trying to launch FC16 in rescue mode, which works fine
with FC14 and Xen 3.4-PAE (but not newer Fedoras because they stopped
compiling them with PAE so I gather). When it boots and gets to the
point where it loads Anaconda, nothing else happens on the console. I
know console variables are at least

Kernel panic in DomU when using swiotlb=force option
I'm trying to get a PVR-150 PCI card imported into a Xen DomU, however
the driver blows up the kernel when loaded. The work around for this
mentioned in various places is to use swiotlb=force on the DomU kernel.
That leads to a fast and furious kernel panic. I've tried this with all
Dom0 & DomU running kernel-xen-2.6.18-53.el5
kernel-xen-2.6.18-53.1.6.el5, bot x86 and 86_64

Custom DomU kernel
Hi Xen list,
I had Xen 3.0.2 (from the xensource.com binary packages) running on an
Ubuntu 6.06 (with a 2.6 kernel).
I made an image of a Redhat Advanced Server 3 that I boot fine; my problem
is that the RHAS DomU is booting on the Dom0 2.6 kernel where I would like
it to boot on the 2.4 kernel shipped with RHAS3.
I understand I need to build a custom 2.4 kernel patched with Xen, but how
do I do

domU freezes with new 2.6.26 kernel
Hello,
I have a problem since upgrading to the latest debian xen-kernel. In one
of my domUs I had clamav installed. Every time I start clamav/reboot the
domU it freezes and, seen from the dom0, in the domU something takes
100% of CPU. The only modifications I made were
- the upgrade of the kernel from 2.6.18-xen-vserver-amd64 to
2.6.26-1-xen-amd64
- I added the following line to the file config
