Problems with bridged networking
Hi, I''m using Xen 3.0.3 on two servers with Debian Etch (amd64). These servers have 10 nics (2 onboard and 8 in two 4-port cards) so that every vm can have its own interface. This worked so far with the Xen Version from Etch with a wrapper script wich started 10 bridges at boot time. But now I''ve updated Xen on one of these server to Xen 3.2.0 from backports.org and now the

SSH ping etc not working between dom0 and domU''s
Hi! I have a problem with my new Xen setup. I have installed Debian etch with netinstall and I''m using 2.6.18-6-xen-amd64 kernel in my dom0 and 3.0.3-0-4 version xen hypervisor. I''m using four network cards on my system and using three of them as xen bridges and dom0 is using the fourth one only for it''s own. So basicly both of my virtual servers use a network card

Xen Netloop module missing
Hi, I was hoping someone on this forums could help me out with a problem I was facing with Xen. When I compiled the kernel for Xen-3.1.3 using "make world"(I know this is an old version but I need to use it for some compatibility issues), the kernel was missing the Xen netloop module. There was no /kernel/drivers/xen/netback/netloop.ko in the newly compiled kernel. I think we would

Hi all, I''m searching for a tutorial how to setup multiple network cards with xen network bridge setup in debian lenny. My problem is, bridges seams only to work if i put an ip adress in dom0 to them. DomU uses eth3, eth4??
Hi There, I have a bit of an odd issue. I am testing Xen 3.0.2 on a machine before fully migrating to it from 2.0.7. The host OS is Ubuntu 6.06, and I am running the pre-compiled Xen code (kernel, tools) from the Xen site. I have two NICs, both if which I amhidung from Dom0 via the ''pciback.hide'' grub entry. I am have the bridges setup in the

Network Routing
Hi, I have a linux router with 4 ethernet cards; eth0 through eth3. Basically, all I want to do is route all traffic from eth2 to eth0, and all traffic from eth1 to eth3. I''ve looked through the LARTC how-to, specifically at chapter 4, about multiple providers. However, I am still a bit confused, and not sure how to set up my routing tables, as my scenario differs from the one in the

Problem with multiple ISP''s
I have a setup with two Internet providers. One circuit (net0 == eth1) is used primarily for employees and tunnels to other sites. The other (net1 == eth2) is for the production machines that customers access. Everythung works in teh sense that packets get to where they are sent (mostly) but I recently I had a sniffer on the system and noticed a problem I cannot solve. traffic coming in

Bug#1042842: network interface names wrong in domU (>10 interfaces)
Package: xen-utils-4.17 Version: 4.17.1+2-gb773c48e36-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainers, On one of our domUs we discovered that the network interface names were wrongly assigned since recreating the domU after an upgrade to bookworm. If over 10 network interfaces are configured the mapping (dom0) vifX.10 <-> eth10 (domU) does not apply anymore. Instead the interfaces on dom0 are

Must have been asked before, but I can''t find the solution
I''m attempting to migrate from vmware to xen, however I need to be able to run more than one bridge. Think of it this way: xen0 xenU-1 xenU-2 xenU-3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Inside_bridge_1: eth0 vm1_eth0 vm2_eth0 virtual_switch_2: vm1_eth1 vm2_eth1 vm3_eth1 Outside_bridge_3: eth1 vm2_eth2 vm3_eth0 Now, I can modify the existing

Opensolaris domU unable to get dhcp lease
I''m running a ubuntu 9.04 64 bit dom0 with kernel 2.6.29.6 and xen 3.4.0. My eth0 is bridged to br0 and to my guest VMs. The dom0 is running a dhcp server on br0 which is able to provide leases to physical machines on eth0, and also to a windows xp domU which is bridged to br0. However my open solaris 2009.6 domU is unable to obtain a dhcp lease. On the opensolaris side I can see this:

VLANs in guest VMs
Hi, We would like to use VLAN tagged packets to be sent/received by the guest VMs running on xen hypervisor. Does xen bridging support vlan tagged packets arriving on the physical nic from outside of the xen host to be passed through with the vlan tag to the vif of the guest with the guest VM receiving the tagged packet ? We have a xenbr configured with two interfaces - eth3 (physical

outgoing domu network dies after a while
I have a OpenSuse 10.3 with xen 3.1.0 running and it''s been running fine for a few months. This past weekend it suddenly started to act up and after some troubleshooting I can now say that it seems like the guests(domU) loose the outgoing network pipe, from the console I can see that the TX counter is stuck at the same value but it''s no errors. It behaves as if whatever I try to
