Bug#648670: xm was unable determine an actual domU state under some conditions
Package: xen-utils-4.1
Version: 4.1.1-3
I have an HVM domU which was created with xen-utils-4.0 (and Xen 4.0 hypervisor of course). Recently I've upgraded to Xen 4.1 and xen-utils-4.1, but after a reboot I was unable to do anything with it: "xm start" caused "Domain is already running" error, while "xm shutdown" simply hadn't printed any error messages, only

Error: Device 2049 (vbd) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working
Hi,
have a debian 5.0 with all patches and xen 4.3.1 (debian repo)
installed. If I use a VM with paravirtualizing it works fine.
But a full virtualized image doesn''t boot.

Re: [Xen-users] Error: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Backend device not found.
I am having the same problem, however on RHEL 2.6.16.
I have tried setting up the bridge manually but it does not work.
Can someone give some clues on what we should do to solve this problem in RHEL
Thanks
P. Krishna

Dear Community,
i have a problem with a new debian XEN 64bit squeeze Server, when i started

xenstore-write: could not write path backend/vbd/1/2050/hotplug-error
After a few times of building xen by source, I can''t start domU anyway. I
tried "yum erase xen kernel-xen" and "yum install xen kernel-xen" again,
but the problem is still exist.
There are xenstore-write errors in /var/log/xen/xen-hotplug.log:

Problem booting Xen DomU images under Ubuntu Jaunty (Dom0 working nicely)
Dear All,
I now have my Dom0 working nicely running Ubuntu Jaunty. I am now
trying to boot Images I had been using without problem under my
previous Xen installation (Gentoo). For the Dom0 host kernel I am
using the debian package
linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-686_2.6.26-15_i386.deb. The DomU kernel is
one I compiled myself a while ago (sometime last year and has always
worked on Gentoo and I think

Hi,
My Xen 3.2 does not boot. Its stuck at "Freeing unused kernel memory:

My kernel is built using make KERNELS=

domU lifecycles, xenstore, and UUIDs [not necessarily 128-bit ones]
At least from the ''xm'' commands'' interface, it looks like domU''s just
disappear after an ''xm destroy'', which I''ve been using to cut turn off
the virtual power switches of domU''s. Is this by design?
I''m trying to think of a good way to identify a domU throughout its
lifecycle, which for me goes all the way from

Cannot create vbd / cannot create vif
Last week, I mentioned an error I was getting, as described below. I''ve
seen several mailing list posts describing a similar problem as far
back as December, 2005. This seems to be a problem plaguing all Xen 3
releases (to date).

Bug#490409: xen-3: diff for NMU version 3.2.1-2.1
tags 490409 + patch
thanks
Hi,
The following is the diff for my xen-3 3.2.1-2.1 NMU.
It incorporates three patches from upstream and aims to
fix CVE-2008-2004 aka #490409.
It is not yet tested much, I would appreciate if interested
parties could give it a try.
I'll upload in due course.
Kind regards
T.

[PATCH] [IOEMU] Allow blktap to be able to be booted as systemvolume for PV-on-HVM(TAKE 3)
Hi All,
I sent the patch to make blktap work with PV-on-HVM.
I corrected the part that had been pointed out in the Xen community.
・All xvdN disk is looked like hdN.
・All tap disks are checked.(tap:aio, tap:sync, tap:vmdk, etc.)
We cannot use blktap for the volume of the system with PV-on-HVM
and are embarrassed.
Could you apply this patch? Or, please give the comment to me.

Xend crashes when it''s trying to create domU
Hi, every one:
I had problem creating domU on diskless device by
using xen-unstable. Following, please find out
details. BTW, the same configuration works fine on
device with hard disk
(1) Xen, dom0 kernel and dom0 root file system are
loaded/mounted over via eth0
(2) DomU root file system is created in a file-backed
virtual block device(VBD). The file-backed VBD locates

XCP 0.5 killing umanaged domain (BUG?)
1) Misspelled message ''killing umanaged domain'' (must be killing
UNmanaged domain)
2) more serious. I found this message after disappearance of virtual
machine created early. I restart XAPI tool stack and machine was killed
(not shutdowned, but completely removing). Here log (from machine where
domain was resident)

Hello everyone!
I''m new with Xen and i''ve been dealing with the same error the last week.
I''m pretty much lost, i don''t know what else to do so i ask for your help.
In my case i installed Xen on a amd64 Pc, with Gentoo. I installed the
following packages: xen, xen-tools and xen-sources from the gentoo
