Desperate :( DomU with kernel in Dom0
Hello, maybe I''m stupid but I find no way to have the kernel in Dom0 instead of DomU for Centos 5. Here is what I did: Regular Centos 5 Dom0 install, then creating a LVM group (vms) and install DomU with virt-install works perfectly: virt-install --p --location=http://mirrors.kernel.org/centos/5/os/i386 --file=/dev/vms/centos5_data --name=centos5 --ram=512 --nographics I get a

'initrd' image of CentOS (domU) on Ubuntu (dom0)
Hello, What is the best way to get the xen enabled CentOS 5.2 vmlinuz and initrd images for use as a guest domain (domU) on Ubuntu host domain (dom0). Is there a site where these are available? I am hoping that I could use the vmlinuz from the latest kernel rpm, if I go that route, how could I generate the initrd image given that my host is Ubuntu? These are for use with post install of domU,

If this is a -xen kernel, we should create a an initrd that can be used by both dom0 and domU, i.e. it has the necessary hardware drivers, but also the front end drivers. Aren''t there various differences between different

Hello, I guess it possible distro specific issue but is it resolvable? I have one node(testing purpose) ganeti 2.0.1 cluster installed over Debian5 Lenny. Almost everything from distro repositories. CentOS 4 and CentOS 5 DomU on CentOS 5 Dom0: problems with hand-built OS and LVM
I''ve been running any number of CentOS 4 based Xen hosts and guests using CentOS 4.4, and the Xen RPM''s from www.xensource.com, and various hand-built OS images using jailtime and my own own OS images. I like the jailtime approach: One partition for / on the DomU, /dev/sda1, built as a local file or local LVM partition One partiton for swap on the DomU, /dev/sda2,

New DomU on older Dom0
Hi, I have a Xen server running OpenSuSE 10.2, with Xen version 3.0.3_11774. It''s happily hosting two DomU''s running the same OS / kernel. Now I tried to create a new DomU running a newer OS - OpenSuSE 11.1. It comes with Xen version 3.3.1_18494_03. Unfortunately for me, it doesn''t work - this is what I get: > xen1:/etc/xen/vm # xm create NEW > Using config file

new kernel on Fedora 10 domU
Hi, I installed Fedora 10 as domU on CentOS 5.3. I need new 2.6.25.14 kernel under domU (in order to patch it for MPLS protocol). I followed advice on http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Kernel.org_Linux_on_Xen, and compiled kernel with XEN options enabled under domU. I got all relevant packages in /boot and /lib/modules, but when I try to boot virtual machine I got this error: Error starting

Hello all, I am trying to get an Ubuntu 8.04 image running on my CentOS 5.2 Dom0 which so far has only been running CentOS 5.2 DomUs. The image I am trying to run was fetched from jailtime.org (just so I didn't have to go through building an image for myself). The configuration of the DomU is based on what the guys at jailtime.org provided and its as follows name = "redgum"
