swapless pvm
What is the best practice in creating PVm domU''s - with or without swap? >From the admin point of view, especially in HA environment it is temptating not to have a seperate swap partition. Could it be performance issue if swapping to swap-file insted of swap-partition? What about pure swapless- no swapfile, no swap-partition? Any expirence out there? regards Longina -- --

Xen and Enomaly
Hi list, Right now I''ve to find some graphic (or web!) interface to administrate our new data center infrastructure who will be running over Xen. I''ve been googling around to find something, and looks like Enomaly is a good choice. Can anybody give me some feedback about this? Or maybe recommend another front-end interface? Thanks in advance. Boris.

bonding+vlan+ bridging old vifs
Hi again, Bonding seems to work with mode =4. I have a strange problem now - can''t get rid of old virtual interfaces which were created on the first start up of xend. Even if I boot machine with xend disabled, I still have old stuff coming up: veth0-veth5, and vif0.0-vif0.3. I would like to configure all networkig manualy first - how can I remove those interfaces, where are they

[patch] Basic HTTP Proxy Authentication
Hi all, I have put together a patch for supporting "Basic" HTTP Proxy Authentication. The patch changes the interpretation of the RSYNC_PROXY environment variable so that the syntax user:pass@proxy.foo:port may be used instead of just proxy.foo:port (the old syntax is of course still supported). The patch has only been tested lightly, but it should(TM) work. The patch (and

Troubles with two node
Hi all, I'm running OCFS2 on two system with OpenSUSE 10.2 connected on fibre channel with a shared storage (HP MSA1500 + HP PROLIANT MSA20). The cluster has two node (web-ha1 and web-ha2), sometimes (1 or 2 times on a month) the OCFS2 stop to work on both system. On the first node I'm getting no error in log files and after a forced shoutdown of the first node on the second I can see

Question on calculating PJSIP md5 authentication with NEC
I have done additional testing and I haven't been able to figure out why it's failing. Since my original testing we now set the realm on the authentication section to match what we receive from NEC. It's of the format abc at xyz.com I have verified the md5_cred several times and it matches the user:realm:password formula 3016:insiph at something0a646666.com:3016 where username is

pasting indexes to variables within loops
Hi all, Hope someone can help me. I start out with a matrix called haplo with 600 rows and two columns. To start with, the elements of the matrix are character strings of 20 numbers. I then want to create separate objects, called ha1-ha600, that are the concatenated 20 + 20 numbers, as numeric. I am having no trouble doing anything except getting the index i to paste to the object ha(i) in

etherchannel/port group/bonding plus vlan works well
I figured I should post this because before I went to do it I searched the web for caveats etc and didn''t really find much. So anyway, I set up bonding + vlan for a project. Computer is dell powerdge 350 with 2 intel 82559 10/100 nic running stock 2.4.20. I tried both the eepro100 and the e100 drivers for the nics, both work 802.1q and bonding are modules. Creating named lists

data -> data matrix that can be used in regressions
Dear R users, I have spent most of this day figuring out how to read STATA data into R (which eventually worked) and to run a simple OLS regression. It seems that the manuals are written in the most general and abstract way which does not really make it easy to understand what's going on. I'd be glad if somebody could save my day by: telling me how to define a matrix from the

File retrieval from outside hangs, internally is okay, only Centos5 affected
Hi! I have a really weird problem with some of my servers, namely all the ones running Centos5 When I try to download a file from the server to a machine outside our Cisco 6500 router/firewall, the download hangs about half the times (15 out of 40) when less than half a megabyte into the transfer (varied from 76 kb to 496 kb). One server has a portchannel (Cisco speak for ethernet bundle),

Broadcom NIC Binding under Centos 4.2
Hello all, I'm having unusual difficulty configuring teaming with Centos 4.2. The 2 NIC's are Broadcom. The HW is HP DL360 and there is no teaming driver for RHEL4 since it comes with package (says HP). Since there is no teaming driver from centos (as far as I know), I tried the Broadcom Driver, configured the team file, but the team just wont come up. A Virtual Interface should be up

Centos box and Cisco 3750 VLAN's
Hello all, I have a CentOS box that has a NIC (eth0) on which I defined 4 VLAN's (counting the NIC itself): eth0, eth0.1, eth0.2 and eht0.3. Initially the Cisco switch was not partitioned into VLAN's which means that the only VLAN running on it was the default one (VLAN 1). I have then played with VLAN's a bit on the switch and at this point have two: VLAN 1 (which is default and can
