NIC binding on host and pass through to guests
Hi,
I've just joined the list because of questionnaire in the forum [1].
The hardware is AMD-V(IOMMU) capable and is enabled in the BIOS with 3
NICs. I currently have host Windows 2008 R2 installed but binds
(network services and protocols) on NIC3 only. My guests on VMWare
workstation (has bridged network service bound on all 3 NIC) has
bridged 3 NICs for the guests where NIC1 is WAN, NIC2

[Bridge] Help: Bridge and NAT through same NIC?
I am so out of my depth on this one, but I would welcome some help. I
have the following network and did get it to work with m0n0wall (a BSD
firewall) an option called "transparent bridge". I've switched to Clark
Connect because of its support for content filtering, and installed
bridge-utils.
I have a home network based a single WAN-facing NIC, eth0, that gets a
public IP address

Dual personality Server (network pass through)
I have 3 nics in a NATed gateway file server. Two nics (eth1, eth2)
provide dhcp and nfs services to an internal subnet via a dedicated
switch. The other nic (eth0) connects to an external WAN switch to
provide net access to the systems in the subnet.

[Bridge] Problem with Routed mode using br2684ctl tool
Hi,
I am writing this email in sincere hope that somebody
experienced similar/same problem and found solution to
it.
The classical bridge setup could be achieved using
brctl tool, which could be found at:
http://home.regit.org/br2684.html
I have an ADSL CO line card Linux based [2.4.24
kernel] with 8 nas interfaces and eth0. Rather than
having bridge, the decision was to have a router,

Sanity check - routed public IPs
Hi,
I have been running Shorewall (v 2.0.15 nowadays) for some time to
act as a firewall between my LAN and my ISP where I have a fixed IP
WAN address. Recently, I got an allocation of a /28 range of public
IPs to do a DMZ. The ISP tells me that they are routing the /28 range
via the existing WAN address. The WAN address is not part of the /28
range.
This setup should be fairly simple, from

pci pass-through, NIC card
Hi,
I am trying to make the vt-d and pci pass-through work and I have some
problems. I just try to give a NIC to an HVM guest.
When I create the vm the hypervisor goes to an infinite loop,
it displays in loop the message enclosed (console_on_xm_create).
I use xen x86_64, debian etch dom0 with linux-2.6.18.8-xen 32.
The hvm guest is a debian etch 64.
Cheers,

I want to configure a device with three network interfaces where two of them
would bridge two segments of the LAN subnet and the third one would be

different segments of the

Multipath Routing..
Ok folks, here goes..
I have been boggling with a problem for the past week, and still haven''t
found a solution..
I''m trying to route traffic from two providers through a Linux machine.
But that is not the problem. The ISP''s have provided me with a WAN IP
class for both of the lines, to be routed into a DMZ where the machines

Asterisk on ClarkConnect
Has anyone tried installing Asterisk on ClarkConnect? It looks like
ClarkConnect runs on RHEL so it should work if they haven't modified it too
much.
It appears that ClarkConnect is working on adding Asterisk and integrating
it into their GUI but until then I'd also be interested in trying to use
FreePBX.
Anyone?

Strange samba problem with Win XP
Hello list,
I don't know what is breaking my samba box but I am really very
worried and confused !! My samba server has no problem with linux
client. "smbclient -L <samba IP> -U <samba user>" runs well. No
problem at all. But whenever I try to access the shares from Win-XP it
reports that "path not found". And after repeatedly trying the same

Router Recommendations Please
Hello all,
We've discovered that VoIP (IAX2) + Citrix + Video is pegging the measly
CPU on the Netopia router our ISP provided. We've got 3Mb/3Mb and will
increase to 4/4 next year.
The Netopia simply breaks out our WAN IPs, and we've got a switch hooked up
to it on the inside (Actually I've got a QoS box in-between).

Anyone know of a pass through ATA
Anyone know of a company that makes a pass through ATA?
By pass through I mean have an Ethernet switch built into the ATA, like most
desktop phones have.
All of the dual ethernet ATA's I have seen have WAN/LAN ports, not two LAN
ports.
I fooled around with DMZ etc...but it just doesn't work as well.

Shared ADSL SHAPER
Hi,
I''m trying to make a shaper / firewall to improve sharing of bandwidth on a
ADSL (3mbit down / ½ mbit up)
Since the ADSL is very asymmetric, down is unimportant, I make a ingress rate
limit shaper to ensure, all shaping is at the Shaper, and not on the Router
or the ISP.
The Idea is then to make one HTB hierarchy and have each client (IP) filtererd
and put in a child-HTB queue.

Traffic Shaping and Bridge
Hi All,
I''m using Shorewall 3.0.4 and I''m wondering if it is possible to do
traffic shapping on only one interface from a bridge.
The firewall has got 3 NIC, eth0, eth1, eth2.
eth0 and eth2 are bridged, but if I''m right, when you specify a traffic
rate for a link, you do it for the interface. In my case, eth0 and eth2
do not appear in the interface file, but it is
