Port forwarding from dom0 to bridged domU with IPVS
Hi list, We, an OSS advocacy group, setup a Xen 3.1 machine composed of : . a 64 bits dom0 running Debian stable amd64 . 2 hvm domUs running OpenBSD amd64 . 2 hvm domUs running NetBSD i386 This machine is to be hosted and reachable from the Internet, but it will only have one public IP. Naturally, our first tought was to port-forward using iptables / netfilter. We didn''t really

OT?: NetBSD domU on linux dom0 (XSA-240?)
Hi No 1st hand experience, just passing the information... If some of you are hosting NetBSD on Xenserver, that might impact: http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-xen/2017/10/23/msg009097.html and the work around listed in http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-xen/2017/10/23/msg009098.html "I guess this is the patch from XSA-240, you need to boot with pv-linear-pt=true on the Xen command

Unable to start domU because losetup fails
Hi, I have Xen 3.3.1 dom0 on Debian with 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 kernel and I had to "xm destroy" my domU. Now when I try to start it again it fails like this: # xm list | grep n39 # # xm create -c /xen/conf/n39 Using config file "/xen/conf/n39". ROOT xen1:~> Error: Device 4 (vbd) could not be connected. losetup -r /dev/loop1 /xen/iso/amd64-netbsd-6.iso failed # losetup -a

Bug#679533: Traffic forwarding issue between Xen domU/dom0
retitle Traffic forwarding issue between Xen domU/dom0 thanks This week again this bug occurred again so we are trying to create some kind of reproduce algorithm. First we've created two virtual machines named koekiemonster.bofh.hq.mendix.net and netappsim.bofh.hq.mendix.net. We've added 29 vifs to koekiemonster.bofh.hq.mendix.net. During this tests we've always had a ping

Bug#658263: xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64: Different network traffic values from dom0 vs domU
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64 Version: 4.0.1-4 Severity: normal Xen Networking[1] works by creating a new pair of virtual ethernet interfaces (vifN.M in dom0 and ethM in domU with id N) and connecting then by an internal "crossover ethernet cable". My understanding of the "internal crossover" thing is that networking statistics should be the same no matter if you measure

Setting an interface on domu to receive all traffic for the host machine
Hi, I am new to xen and needed some help doing a networking setup on xen. I am using a Centos host with the xen modules installed. I have created a dom1 which contains another centos machine. I want the interface eth1 of dom1 to receive all traffic that is seen for eth0 on the physical machine. The interfaces of dom1 are bridged to xenbr0. I have set eth1 to promiscuous mode on dom1. On doing an

Strange behavior after upgrading to rsync 3.2.3
(Please forgive me if this has already been discussed - I checked the archives and bug reports and found nothing relevant.) I just recently upgraded to rsync 3.2.3 Now, I get error messages on every copy. For example, $ rsync -rltv --delete rsync://anoncvs.netbsd.org/cvsroot/CVSROOT \ /$LOCALDIR/ results in these error messages: receiving incremental file list default_perms_for_dir:

Xen dom0 and ZFS boot?
Some background - I have a couple of NetBSD (i386) boxes and CentOS 5 boxes that I want to virtualise and I''m trying to work out which OS will be most suitable as the dom0. I have a desire to run at least RAID1 and ideally ZFS mirroring on the dom0 so I can have all the domU''s not have to worry about disk redundancy etc. My hardware : I have a brand new Intel E8200 core2duo and

Bug#658100: xl: hangs in qemu-dm when trying to run PV domU
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.1.2-1 Severity: normal Hi, I was doing some experiments today with XL TOOLSTACK, and found few problems when trying to do PV domU boot. I was trying to run kfreebsd9 or linux-3.2 kernel in qemu using PV i386, and with simple configuration without any disks, nics or virtual framebuffer, kernel boots (and then kernel itselfs correctly fails with information

network not accessible through bridged interface but traffic visible
I had a major HD failure and need to rebuild my host server and the virtual servers that resided on it. I am moving from CentOS 5.6 to CentOS 6.3. I am using the same configuration, as best as I can tell, that was working only hours ago on 5.6 but does not work on 6.3. My guest server can see network traffic on the bridged network device but I cannot seem to interact with it. Iptables turned

SXCE 121 Kernel Panic while installing NetBSD 5.0.1 PVM DomU
Hi all! I am running SXCE 121 on a dual quad-core X2200M2 (64 bit of course). During an installation of a NetBSD 5.0.1 PVM domU, the entire machine crashed with a kernel panic. Bug#679533: Traffic forwarding issue between Xen domU/dom0 and ovs
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64 Version: 4.0.1-5.2 Hi, We're seeing weird behaviour regarding network traffic between a Xen dom0 and domU. I reported this issue yesterday to the openvswitch-discuss mailing list, but it seems this could also be a (regression?) bug in the xen hypervisor or the linux kernel... (we've upgraded xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64 4.0.1-4 -> 4.0.1-5.2 and
