How to auto-start and -stop xVM domains?
I''m trying to figure out what the CURRENT requirements are for configuring the xVM domains to start at boot-time and stop on shutdown. The closest to current I''ve seen is http://opensolaris.org/os/community/xen/docs/xVM_lowres.pdf which does not address the problem, and http://opensolaris.org/os/community/xen/docs/xvm-ktde-20070917.pdf which states: *

Preferred DomU creation method
All, Is there a preferred method for creating a domain today; in other words, virt-install, xm create, etc.? I have one machine that the domains were created by another admin using xm create, and I /do/ like the config options for autostarting, etc. For some reason, I used virt-install on the current machine, and ended up with domains named and placed in

How to auto-start Guests when using 'xl' toolstack? 'old' configs in /etc/xen/auto/ are ignored without xend service active.
I''ve migrated my Dom0 host to Xen 4.2.0 + xl toolstack. With ''xm'' toolstack, configs in /etc/xen/auto are autostarted, assuming xend/xendomains services are started. IIUC, when using xl toolstack, those services are not to be started; and, afaict, the installation process for 4.2 has them disabled by default. Now, the configs in /etc/xen/auto are simply ignored. Xen and Fedora 7
I recently installed Fedora 7, Xen with Windows Vista in a VM using the Virtual Machine Manager tool. Everything has worked great but now I can not get the VM to start during Linux boot. I made sure xend and xendomain are started using chkconfig. Everything I have read talked about placing a .hvm file in the /etc/xen/auto directory. The Virtual Machine Manager tool did not create a .hvm file

Applications on different deskops at startup
Hi, I've just converted my laptop to Centos 6 from Fedora ( gnome 3 made the latest fedora unusable ) and I have one problem. I have several desktops with applications running on them, mainly terminals. At login all the terminals start on desktop 1. How do I get them to start on the desktop they were running on at logoff. That's how it worked on Fedora 13/14 so it must be popssible

Dialing a call back out on same SIP trunk as it came in
I have a puzzling situation, and would be grateful for any insight. I have a dialplan that forwards an incoming call out to another number via the same SIP trunk as it came in on. e.g. [from-siptrunk] exten => 0123456789,1,NoOp exten => 0123456789,n,Dial(SIP/siptrunk/0987654321) Now, if I use a different SIP trunk for the outbound call, than the inbound call came on, the call is set up

[Xen-ia64-devel] [PATCH] xm: Don''t spawn vncviewer twice.
Hi. I found this issue with IA64 box while looking at the c/s of 18204:21dd1fdb73d8, but I believe the things is same with x86 box. I''m not sure whether this patch coexist with the old ioemu which is to be removed soon. So it might be desirable to apply this patch after deleting the internal ioemu tree. thanks, xm: Don''t spawn vncviewer twice. Without this patch, vncviewer

Automatic vncviewer startup
Hello, is there a way to start automatically the vncviewer when a domU starts? When I was using the xm toolstack I could use "xm create domain.cfg -vncviewer" or something similar (if I''m not wrong), but I don''t know how to do it with the xl toolstack. At the moment, I have to create the domain using xl create domU.cfg, then xl list to see the domU id and then xl

Re: "virsh list --all" is intermittently causing a shutdown client to boot?
Autostart is set to "enable" for this domain, but I wouldn't expect autostart to be invoked when a simple "read-only" command is run.  I'd expect the "list --all" command to only display details about the domain...not change the status of the domain by booting it.  Maybe I'm misunderstanding things... qemu:///session and network-mounted home directories
Dear libvirt-users, Suppose my home directory is network mounted on to several different machines. And suppose I defined some VMs in qemu:///session. The configuration files and disk images for qemu:///session are stored in my home directory. Now suppose I log in to some machine and use virsh. The qemu:///session VMs that are marked autostart are started. Now if I log into another machine and
