error creating Centos 5.1 x32 dum_U instance on CentOS5.1 x64
Nah, RHEL 5.1+ supports 32-bit domU (PAE and non PAE) on 64-bit dom0.
Actually RHEL Xen is 3.1 with the brain damaged 3.0 userland utilities.

Ubuntu 8.04 DomU image from jailtime.org on CentOS 5.2 Dom0
Hello all,
I am trying to get an Ubuntu 8.04 image running on my CentOS 5.2 Dom0
which so far has only been running CentOS 5.2 DomUs.
The image I am trying to run was fetched from jailtime.org (just so I
didn't have to go through building an image for myself).
The configuration of the DomU is based on what the guys at
jailtime.org provided and its as follows
name = "redgum"

moving from RH8 to CentOS5.1
Hi all,
Is there a way to 'automatically' recreate users/permissions when moving
from RH8 (yes, I know...way old) to CentOS5.1 or is it just simpler to
recreate the users manually?
Total users on this system is < 20.
Thanks in advance,

CentOS5.1 PHP 5.2 RPMs?
Is there a PHP 5.2 build for CentOS5.1 anywhere? Unfortunately I need a
fix for a SOAP bug that is present in the current 5.1.6 release.

CentOS5.1 with routed domU
Is there anyone have a domU with routed networking functioning
correctly and willing to share their configuration file with me?
I must be doing something wrong, but I just can''t see what it is.
Comparing with a known functioning configuration would be very
helpful.
Thanks,
James

CentOS 5.1 Paravirtualized guest hangs during creation
Hi all,
I am creating a CentOS 5.1 Paravirtualized guest On Xen 3.2.1 / Fedora
8 Dom0. I built DomU kernel from the Xen Linux 2.6.18.8 source. I also
created an initrd image (I face some problems there as I had to manually
copy some modules line xennet, ahci and libata). Anyway, I dounloaded
the CentOS5.1 image from http://jailtime.org/ and copied it to a new
partition. When I create the

CentOS 4 and CentOS 5 DomU on CentOS 5 Dom0: problems with hand-built OS and LVM
I''ve been running any number of CentOS 4 based Xen hosts and guests
using CentOS 4.4, and the Xen RPM''s from www.xensource.com, and various
hand-built OS images using jailtime and my own own OS images.
I like the jailtime approach:
One partition for / on the DomU, /dev/sda1, built as a local file or
local LVM partition
One partiton for swap on the DomU, /dev/sda2,

Re: Centos5.1 x64 kernel works, x64xen doesnt. Fails withrepeated "drive appears confused".
CentOS 5.1 actually has at least Xen 3.1, I believe. CentOS 5.0 was a 3.0.x version, but 5.1 upgraded it...

RE: [CentOS] Running CentOS 4.6 domUs on CentOS5.1 dom0 and domUscrash
Sorry for the top post, blackberry.
Well I like to be able to install my machines in the xenstore with 'xm new'
and then manage them from there, but virt-install and virsh are useful
too, so I just use CentOS base then replace their xen with the one from
xen.org keeping libvirt and now I have the best of both worlds.
The commercial one isn't without gripes too. Like I wish they had

kvm under centos5.1/5.2
Hi all,
Somebody have tried kvm under centos 5/5.1/5.2?? How stable and usable is it??
Any tip?? After redhat news about support kvm in the future I think that
software will be more releveant in virtulized environments.
Thanks.

virtualbox on centos5.1 PAE
Quad core duo 2.4Ghz (Q6600)
Kernel 2.6.18-53.1.14.el5PAE #1 SMP
4Gb RAM
VirtualBox-1.5.6_28266_rhel5-1.i586.rpm
The package installed OK. I did
KERN_DIR=/usr/src/kernels/2.6.18-53.1.14.el5-i686 /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
and the module compiles AOK.
BUT... at modprobe time:
vboxdrv: disagrees about version of symbol struct_module
Am I doing something stupid?

evince on centos5.1
is there something other than evince on centos 5.1 to view pdf's?
Every time I am remoted in using vncviewer and look at attached emails
it KILLS my X11 session.
If I am at my desktop it works fine.
xpdf used to work fine on 4.X - but it was removed in 5.X.
Is there an alternative?
Thanks,
