WinXP CD-ROM problems
I''m running Xen on RHEL5.
I''ve got two problems with CD-ROMs.
In my .hvm file, I''ve got the following line:
disk = [ ''phy:/dev/VG_Guests/WinXP-001,ioemu:hda,w'',
''file:/opt/xen_stuff/winxp.iso,hdc:cdrom,w'',
''phy:/dev/scd0,hdd:cdrom,r'' ]
The first CD-ROM, (the one linking to the file winxp.iso), appears to

I do the following:

Using config file "/etc/xen/winxp.hvm".
Error: Errors were found at line 190 while processing /etc/xen/winxp.hvm:

WinXP console
I''m using RHEL 5. One of the virtual machines I have running is a
WinXP install. I start this up after I login to X. If I log out of
X, the virtual WinXP is still running (that''s fine with me). However
when I log back into X and start the Virtual Machine Manager, I am
unable to open the machine. It normally says "Virtual Machine Console

Im tryingn to run a cd from the windows 3.1 to '95 era. Its a Ford factory service manual disk for pulling up automotive diagnostics/schematics etc. The disk installed without a problem using wine /path/to/cdrom/install.exe . Can not find the cdrom device after boot into xen.
Hello,
I just did a fresh installation of Xen 3.0.3. However, I can not find my
cd-rom device under /dev/ after I booted into Xen. If I booted into Linux
native (RHELAS 4.4), CD-ROM device is there and listed as /dev/cdrom. I know
Xen changed the CD-ROM access mode from HVM domain. But for Xen domain0, it
should still be listed as /dev/cdrom, right?
I think the driver for CD-ROM must be

cdrom driver load attempt at boot
Hi there,
I've been using ext3 on RedHat 7.1 for some time and I'm very pleased with
the result. Thanks for all the hard work people have put in it!
I have however one problem: when the machine boots up it tries to load the
mcd and mcdx CD-ROM drivers (AFAIK they are old non-standard CD-ROMs). It
does this from rc.sysinit right after loading usb devices. The machine

automounting a usb-harddrive/cdrom that can be mapped from the login script.
Hi,
I am installing a Samba 3.0.1 on RH90 for a little school, and they want
to have access to a mobile usb-harddrive.
The harddrive shoud be mapped via the login script, and here is were my
troubles begin....
I have been experimenting with the autofs service, which works great if
the harddrive is present at login time.
If one login at a time where the harddrive isn't present the login

CDROM access problem on FreeBSD
Lately I have been trying to get Warcraft II BNE to work on my FreeBSD
machine. I check the Application Database and Warcraft II BNE is
supposed to work fine under Wine.
I started out by updating my ports tree and installing Wine-20050524. I
could not get the installer to run under that version, so I installed
Wine-20041201.
Under 20041201 I was able to install the game, but the game

Warcraft III can't find cdrom
Hi,
After setting the windows version to winxp I managed to install this
game without a problem. Playing however is another matter. It appears it
can't find the CDrom.
I'm using the deb-packages from winehq (version 20050111) in a sid
chroot on an AMD64 pure64 install with kernel 2.6.8 (Debian package
2.6.8-10). I copied the config file from the sample in the documentation

Can I use pxelinux to boot a cdrom image or isolinux from pxe?
Greetings,
I've been a user and fan of SYSLINUX for a couple of years now. I use PXELINUX
for a PXE server. I've only been able to boot linux kernel/initrd images and
dos bootdisks, however now I'm wanting to create a boot image for the 'Rescue

Bizarre problem - happens only under XP and not 2000
I have a very strange problem, which no one has been able to fathom to
this point so I'm hoping that someone here may have encountered
something similar. I'd better note down some background details first.
Relevant machines involved:
Win2K Adv. Server SP3 (acting as Active Directory primary)
Win2K Pro SP3 (authenticates against Win2K server above)

Hi, Dear All
This is my section of [CDROM] in smb.conf:
[cdrom]
comment = Samba server's CD-ROM
writable = no
locking = no
path = /cdrom
public = yes
;
; The next two parameters show how to auto-mount a CD-ROM when the
; cdrom share is accesed. For this to work /etc/fstab must contain
; an entry like this:

; /dev/scd0 /cdrom iso9660
