RailsConf DVD ?
Hi All, I saw spurious mentions on a few blogs of a DVD being made available of RailsConf presentations. However none seemed to have a who/what/when/where attached to them, thus might just be pure speculation. Anyone know of an official source/effort being made for a DVD? Would be well keen for copy if one is to be made available.... Cheers Rowan --- http://raili.st/ -------------- next part

Deleting deleted eMails
Hello 2gether, I am using Dovecot 1.0.rc15 together with Outlook (I apologize) via IMAPS. Now I discovered, that all the old eMails, I marked for deleting, are still there, even the veeery old ones. Dovecot is marking the eMails (I am using maildir configuration) files with an "ST" extension. Is there any switch to turn on garbage collection and maybe a screw to tune the duration until

Props to Mongrel/Zed
Hi All, After upgrading to 1.1 + on a production VPS which was using a combination of Apache 1.33 + SCGI serving up Rails 1.0 app across multiple domains I ran into some major instability problems which I could not pin down (although some very suspicious POSTs were showing up in the log files that can''t have been good). As an experiment I went with the new way of thinking Mongrel and it

Trunk failover
Hi, I'm doing some experiments with SIP vs. IAX2 trunks as an alternative to PSTN and I noticed that, if voip link is down, failover to PSTN is almost immediate with the SIP trunk and VEEERY slow with the IAX trunk. Is there a specific reason? Some timeout to set in iax.conf? Thanks -- Domenico Viggiani

Re: [PATCHv4 0/2] Introduce vfs_minimum_size API to get minimum filesystem size.
I have an issue with btrfs: There's an API > btrfs inspect-internal min-dev-size /sysroot/ But this API is available only in btrfs-progs >= 4.2. Before this, there's no reliable way to get minimum size (I could parse "btrfs filesystem show", but it is veeery inaccurate). Can we require btrfs-progs v4.2? Or how should I work-around this issue? -- Your sincerely, Maxim

SOLVED - Re: login to ms access db very slow on samba 3.x
Hello everybody, Hi Jorge We have found a solution to the problem I've posted earlier to this mailing list; see below for the full history. There was a function in our runtime application which would rebuild all links to external access tables each time the application was started. To keep it short, we're checking the presence of a certain value when starting (in the windows

Xen Store error : out of memory
Hi, I''m running snv84 on a SunFire x2200M2, 2 dualcore opterons, 8GB ram, 2 mirror sata disks (zfs). I tried to install both Ubuntu 7.1 Desktop and Fedora 8 into a HVM domU but failed everytime. The VNC-Server for the domU dies, but the domain still consumes CPU time, disks go idle after a while (zpool iostat or iostat show zero I/O). The domUs booted up fine, the installer started,

UI testing framework? (w/o selenium)
Hey all, I am currently working on coming up w/ an easy to use, developer-centric web testing framework to test a J2EE app with. (I have 3 rails apps in production, love rspec, and am currently at a java shop). I''ve looked at selenium, and it just doesn''t seem like it is ready for prime time, and the target audience is developers. So, having said that, does the rspec

railish icons?
This is a little off topic but someone here knows, I''m sure... Does anyone have a good site to find freely available standard icons for things like add/edit/delete/save? I''m looking for a set of clean and simple matching icons that capture that Railsy-Web 2.0 feel... Maybe icons aren''t Railsy... Steven -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Specifying ui and ci such that ui %*% theta - ci >= 0
Hi, I am a bit stuck on specifying ui and ci. I have read Lange's book ((1999) Numerical Analysis for Statisticians) to his approach and unfortunately his descriptions were not helpful for me. Here is what I have: ui <- rbind(c(0, -1, 0), c(0, 0, -1)) ci <- c(0, -1, -1)) theta <- c(0.5, 0.5, 0.1) My goal is to feed these into constrOptim

should_receive_chain
Do you often find yourself doing this: active = double(''active'') active.should_receive(:first) users = double(''users'', active: active) account.should_receive(:users).and_return(users) for this: account.users.active.first ? Of course, we could use stub_chain, but that doesn''t let us know *where* the chain broke. Would you like to do this?
