smbclient connection problem from MVS to Windows suspect EBCDIC to ASCII conversion problem
Hi,
I have reciently been attempting to connect an OS\390
system to a windows file server using the smbclient
program that is part of the MVS port of samba.
The problem I have encountered is this. When I try to
connect from MVS to windows without a password I can
connect with no problem at all. Files transfer fine
and the encoding is fine.
However the moment that i put a password on the

Suspect error in windows version of 3.60
Gentlemen,
I've observed a suspected bug in R-3.60 for Windows 10.
I am using the latest R version, but I have observed the same error in all
releases: alpha, beta RC and released.
Also the same issue occurs in the 32 and 64 bit GUI versions. The program
header I invoke is:
R version 3.6.0 Patched (2019-04-26 r76431) -- "Planting of a Tree"

Security question about suspect logfile entries
Hello,
in the last days I found some entries in nmb.log on one of my servers:
process_node_status_request: status request for name *<00> from IP 195.232.44.19
0 on subnet REMOTE_BROADCAST_SUBNET - name not found.
(repeated many times)
The host on this ip is not exactly in my domain :-)

suspect valgrind error in mail-index-map.c
Hi
At line 1118 of src//lib-index/mail-index-map.c, inside the function
mail_index_map_move_to_memory, there is:
mail_index_map_copy_header(map, map);
Valgrind is stating that "Source and destination overlap in memcpy".
I'm wondering if this code is just coping the same memory over itself,
or if it is doing something useful.
Regards,
Diego Liziero.

Lets try this again then! Q: SIP error from dialplan I suspect!
I am playing with the dialplan to get it working and I have a challange
with this error. I can't find what it means on the wiki :(
Any sugestions would be helpful at being able to forward it to the SIP
phone if it is online and avaliable but then let that fail and drop into
voicemail if it is not online or is busy.
cheers
David

Crashing Suse 9.2 box - Samba prime suspect
I'm running Suse 9.2, up to date via Yast, samba 3.0.9-2.3, openssh
3.9p1-3.2.
I had two hard crashes on my Suse 9.2 server in the last four days since
I mounted two Windows server shares to the Linux box. Prior to that,
machine has been stable for several months. Primary use is cvs server
with ssh tunnelling pserver from PuTTY.
Crash 1:
I connected in from home using WSFTP Pro 9.01 in

i suspect that there a memory leak in "vmmin"?
Dear listers,
Am currently using MCMC approaches to estimate some parameters of my model.
One parameter has to be updated using a tuned gamma distribution. So at each
iteration I estimate the mean and variance of the density of the gamma
approximation using "vmmin" (i also supply the gradient argument). For
moderate replications the procedure works, but if I increase them R crashes.

Suspected GPL violation by Erightsoft "super"
Hi guys,
the SUPER codec by Erightsoft
http://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html
contains lots of GPL and LGPL code:
mplayer, ffmpeg, x264, musepack, theora,
which they admit and give credit for.
Still, their product is proprietary,
and they insist on it. I tried to get
the source through their forum, but they
of course won't give it:

I'll forward

[SUSPECTED SPAM] Canonical Link to Reference of "ServerAliveInterval"
What is the canonical link to Reference of "ServerAliveInterval"?
Background: I want to write an answer at serverfault (Q-A Site).
I want to avoid copy+pasting. I would like to lead the new comer
to the canonical reference.

Yes, bug PR#929. It's a bug in asInteger, an internal C routine which
using (int) on a double. coerce.c has better routines used to corce
vectors, and the comment

[SUSPECTED SPAM] default change in 6.2 breaks sslh
Hi all!
I'm using sslh. It's a multiplexer, used to let you have ssh, https,
stunnel, etc on one port.
In 6.2 there is a change in default behaviour:
* ssh(1): When SSH protocol 2 only is selected (the default), ssh(1)
now immediately sends its SSH protocol banner to the server without
waiting to receive the server's banner, saving time when connecting.
which, i suppose,

Is the following a known issue, in particular in terms of message clarity of the latter two?

Error in matrix(0, 20, 10^10) : negative length vectors are not allowed

Error: cannot allocate vector of size 0 Kb
