Functional test problem
Embarrassingly late (apps already well advanced), have decided top get to grips with testing and am having a week hopefully covering everything I''ve already coded (so far it''s been worth it -- found a couple of bugs might not have found otherwise). But having a bit of a prob with a functional test. I''m trying to enumerate through through a list of users in a

after_update: old, new values?
With after triggers in Postgres, there are special NEW and OLD vars accessible to trigger functions. Any such thing in Rails? Or would it entail doing something like setting a class var in before_update? Jack -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

content_type from a local file?
I''m using a Rake task to add local files into a database designed for use with attachment_fu. http://eldorado.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/db/migrate/039_create_avatars.rb http://eldorado.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/lib/tasks/import_files.rake So, attachment_fu has a "content_type" field, which apparently is receiving that information from the browser...? I''m trying to

Rspec on rails with out database?
Hi all, I am trying to use rspec_on_rails in a Rails app that doesn''t have a database. so far I have just been faking it out by dumping in a sqlite3 database just to make Rails happy. I was using for test::unit a rake task that eliminated the calls to database prep: # Added this .rake file to keep Rake happy without a database. # Remove once a database is in the picture.

Using an image button for "link_to_remote"
All, I want to do an AJAX request using a custom image button. I currently have this as a standard button action using "button_to". What I need is the button equivalent of "link_to_remote". Is there a helper that I can use, or do I need to build it by hand? I see button_to_function(), but that sets me up to call a Javascript function, not post to a Rails action. Or can

habtm recursion via destroy_without_callbacks
I am having a problem with two models that each have a HABTM relationship to the other. For example: CREATE TABLE people (id INT, name TEXT); CREATE TABLE teams (id INT, name TEXT); CREATE TABLE people_teams (person_id INT, team_id INT); The person model has: has_and_belongs_to_many :teams And the team model has: has_and_belongs_to_many :people The trouble comes when trying to destroy

attachment_fu content_type problem
Hi all.... Admittedly I''m new to Rails and trying to find my way but I''m having an issue with uploading documents with attachment_fu. I have a form where I''m uploading multiple attachments (using AJAX to add file_filed_tags). That seems to work pretty well. The problem is I can''t seem to get the content_type to work as I would expect. For example, if I use

RedCloth Hard Breaks
Has anybody gotten :hard_breaks to work with RedCloth? I''m doing: self.body_html = RedCloth.new(self.body).to_html(:textile) which works, except that it doesn''t transform hard breaks to <br /> tags, which is really important for me. However, if I do: self.body_html = RedCloth.new(self.body, [ :hard_breaks ]).to_html(:textile) then it converts ALL breaks into <br

Working on FP SCEV Analysis
[+CC Andy] Hi Elena, I don't have any fundamental issues with teaching SCEV about floating point types, but given this will be a major change, I think a high level roadmap should be discussed on llvm-dev before we start reviewing and committing changes. Here are some issues that I think are worth discussing: - Core motivation: why do we even care about optimizing floating point

InductiveRangeCheckElimination and BranchProbabilityInfo
Hi, extractRangeChecksFromBranch uses BranchProbabilityInfo to decide whether its worth trying the InductiveRangeCheckElimination transformation. For the following example: void split() { for (int i = 0; i < 100; ++i) { if (i < 99) do_something() else do_something_else() } } But the reported BPI is reported as 50/50 to whether do_something will be called, but we

How to get 'R' to talk BACK to other languages / scripts??
Hey everyone, I know that I can call 'R' from other scripts, and that I can make command calls from 'R' (e.g., using system() ). But how can I get 'R' to RETURN values to the script that called it. E.g., I would like to be able to do something like the following (as a simpler example) from a bash script: #!/bin/bash myTest=echo /usr/local/bin/R --no-restore

SCM for a Rails project - Darcs or Subversion?
Hi everyone. I''m choosing an SCM for my current Rails project. Up until now, for my other (non-Rails) codings, I used Darcs and liked it very much. I''d prefer to use Darcs for my Rails development as well. Looking into the matter, I''m somewhat deterred by the appearant dominance of Subversion as the SCM tool of choice for Rails hackers. Is there a technical reason for

multiple comparison tests & simultaneous multiple plots
I am not sure if my message made it through, so here it is again! Hi Rer's, R-1.1.0 I have two questions for you: 1) I am trying to complete a multiple comparison test after completing a one-way ANOVA on some data. I think this is pretty reasonable. aov(MetricSubset ~ GeneNameFactor) works pairwise.t.test(MetricSubset,GeneNameSubset,p.adjuxt.method=bonferroni,p ool.sd=FALSE)

[LLVMdev] getCanonicalInductionVariable
Hi I have the followed code for which I am writing a loop pass. int main() { int i = 0; for (i=0; i<20; i++) { printf ("hello world %d\n", i); } return 0; } In the function runOnLoop, I have the following instruction PHINode *indv = NULL; indv = L->getCanonicalInductionVariable(); However, when I check indv is always set to NULL. Since the code has a canonical
