libc6 packages that really support nosegneg?
I've tried the libc6-xen package posted at: http://people.debian.org/~aurel32/xen/ However, it looks like programs are still calling the libc6 libraries in /lib/tls, instead of the xen-enabled ones. Is there anything special I need to do to get this to work, or is the package just busted? Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | nate carlson |

libc6-xen not used on AMD Geode LX system
Hi, I'm trying to install xen+Debian Etch on a Geode LX system. Xen boots fine, but although the package "libc6-xen" is installed I have a large number of such errors: 4gb seg fixup, process syslogd (pid 1878), cs:ip 73:b7f24610 All processes triggers it, and from what I've found on the web it's a sign that libc6-xen is not recognized. Starting service as non root user with puppet
Hi, I have an ubuntu system with some of our own services on it. I prefer to run these services as a non-root user. I can control the services using upstart as a non root user and can start and stop the service using initctl without any problems. I''m trying to use puppet to start and stop these services; however, it''s not obvious if it is possible. A suboptimal approach

Segmentation fault (Debian slink+libc6 2.1)
Hi, I've just upgraded my debian machine to the 2.1 libc6 libraries, and I started getting segmentation faults with R. I tried re-compiling and got the same problem. I checked with the dependencies for the binary package, and I have all the required libraries. Any ideas? Hi everyone, I''m trying to start up domU on xen for ARM (Cortex-A15 Fast models). But there seems to be something wrong when I start up domU. First, I get errors in create domU with xl: root@(none):/home/xiaogw# xl create domU-config xc: error:

Hi, I would like to run R2.5.1 in Ubuntu feisty on an AMD64 chip. I am a total newbie to Linux. I have successfully compiled 2.5 however, I am not able to figure out how to upgrade the packages. I am not able to find an R-base-core_2.5.1-1_amd64 or all on the CRAN mirrors. I can find one on the Ubuntu feisty site, however when I try to install it I get a warning that Dependency is not stisfiable:

No text output in login console and shell
Hello, I have a remote IBM x3550 M4 server that I try to remote control through IMM2. The problem: only the blinking cursor is visible in login console. It moves when I type. It moves to where "Login: _" should be if I press ctrl+c. I can login if I enter the correct login and password, but the shell that I get also shows only the blinking cursor and no text. I can issue commands.

upstart CentOS vs upstart Ubuntu is there any difference between them?
I'm moving some server configurations from Ubuntu Server 12.04 to CentOS 6.6. Now I'm working on `/etc/init` script that should be handled by `upstart` at both OS as far as I know. The files on both server are the same and I mean the same at content level and also at path level and permissions level, is the exactly copy from Ubuntu to CentOS. I'm having some issues with upstart at
