Xen 3.1.0 - vkbd Device not starting
When using virtual frame buffer directive in the domU config file: vfb= [ ''type=xxx,....] vbd gets started but vbkd device cannot start, so is this the race condition that was discussed a while ago (patched in april I think) ? Error: Device 0 (vkbd) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working This problem was in 3.1-testing and 3.-unstable and now appears to be in

libvirtError: virDomainCreate() failed POST operation failed: (xend.err ''Device 0 (vkbd) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working.'')
I rebooted my machine and now when trying to run a "vm ... virsh create /etc/xen/vm1.xml" I am getting the following error: libvirtError: virDomainCreate() failed POST operation failed: (xend.err ''Device 0 (vkbd) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working.'') I tried restaring xend and even mounting and unmounting the partition that holds the vm and still no

Error: Device 0 (vkbd) is already connected.
Hi, Is vfb working well lately? I thought I''d test it out on ia64 and it works great, but only once per boot. If I stop the domain and restart it, I get the following: Error: Device 0 (vkbd) is already connected. To make sure this isn''t an ia64 anomaly, I tried it on an x86_64 system. Same thing, works the first time, reboot the domain and it''s broken. I see

Migration failing (xen 3.0.3 on RHEL 5) with "not a valid guest state file: pfn count read"
Hi all, I''m having some problem migrating a simple domU between two hosts. Short question: xm migrate (live or not) fails even though either host is capable of running the VM. Error seems to be: "not a valid guest state file: pfn count read" Long question: I have two boxes (devvmdevvmhost1 and devvmhost2) running xen 3.0.3 (RHEL 5), they are attached to a Dell MD3000 unit

How to unsubscribe
As pointed out already by several emails before, a) mail to dovecot-unsubscribe at dovecot.org (which will unsubscribe instead of temporarily disable delivery) b) go to https://https://dovecot.org/mailman/listinfo/dovecot and click unsubscribe, don't change your delivery options to notmail. xen guest won't boot after yum update
After a yum update my two guests that had been shutdown do not start any more. I have two other guests running that seem to work okay but I am now afraid that they won't come up again if I restart them. I am running CentOS5 with kernel 2.6.18-8.1.8.el5xen. Previously I had following xen versions installed: Oct 14 23:45:10 Updated: xen-libs.i386 3.0.3-25.0.4.el5 Oct 14 23:46:05 Updated:

Xen 4.0 - Support for Citrix WHQL-certified Windows PV drivers
Hi. I have the same problem, which described in: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2010-07/msg00241.html I''m using Debian Squeeze (2.6.32-5-xen-amd64) in Dom0, Xen 4.0.1-rc6, Windows 2008, 2003 x86_64 in domU After installing drivers from http://www.xen.org/files/XenCloud/Software/0.5/XCP-base-0.5.iso, system stops on progress bar in normal boot, but ok in safe mode. Stub domains broken in Xen 4.0?
When I try to use stubdom-dm in lieu of qemu-dm, the guest domain crashes almost immediately if I specify an emulated NIC (''vif='') in the guest configuration file. If I don''t specify a vif, it works fine. If I use the same configuration with qemu-dm instead of sutbdom-dm, it works fine. Is there some reason QEMU emulated networking doesn''t work with stub domains

predict.smooth.spline.fit and Recall() (Was: Re: Return function from function and Recall())
Hi, forget about the below details. It is not related to the fact that the function is returned from a function. Sorry about that. I've been troubleshooting soo much I've been shoting over the target. Here is a much smaller reproducible example: x <- 1:10 y <- 1:10 + rnorm(length(x)) sp <- smooth.spline(x=x, y=y) ypred <- predict(sp$fit, x) # [1] 2.325181 2.756166 ...

Migrating from KVM to XEN - kernel panic
First let me say that I'm not a sysadmin, but am simply wearing that hat this week so please excuse my ignorance. I need to temporarily move some virtual servers from a CentOS-KVM platform to a CentOS-XEN platform while I do some upgrades to the CentOS box. I've created a local LV, and used DD and SCP to transfer the block device from the VKM machine to the XEN machine. For quite a

Return function from function and Recall()
Hi, yesterday I got very useful feedback on what is the best way to return a function from a function. Now, I run into a problem calling a returned function that down the stream uses Recall(). Below is a self-contained example. I took away yesterday's code for returning a minimal environment for the function, because that is not related to this problem. getPredictor <- function(x, y) {

Recall@p plot using ROCR?
Is it possible to use ROCR to plot a simple recall at p plot? I.e., a plot where the x-axis is the position into the ranked test set, and the y-axis is the recall, so you can see what's the recall in the top 10% of the ranked results. I searched through the performance() manual but found nothing. (Not a cutoff-vs-recall graph, since the cutoff is the probability estimate returned by the

with(x, Recall()) Crash
R-devel, I discovered a segfault in my R code that boiled down to my incorrect use of the Recall() function embedded within a with() function. Since segfaults are generally bad things, even when it's the user's fault for writing nonsense code, I thought I'd pass along the offending code. I've tested the crash on R 2.11.1 (on Linux and Mac), but not in devel versions of R. HTH,

RECALL: Lithium batteries for Polycom Soundstation 2W
Just released by the CPSC on their recalls mailing list; please forward to any venues where you feel operators or resellers of the SoundStation might be, with this preface included. My 2W had a battery with the part code 1520-07804-002; its date code was GP0806, and therefore predates the recall period. Cheers, -- jra ----- Begin forwarded message ----- This message consists of the following:
