Second Xen NIC not being recognized?
I've got a Xen domU running Centos 5.2 (dom0 is also Centos 5.2) with two NICs configured. Both NICs show up in the Xen hardware details display. Looking at dmesg output from rebooting the domU, I see both eth0 and eth1 appearing there. But network configuration only knows about eth0, the one that was installed originally (eth1 was added later). There's options to create another NIC in

[Bridge] One NIC not bridging?
Hello, I'm having a problem getting two (working) NICs enslaved to a bridge to both work in the bridge. The setup is just for testing and looks like this: (NETWORK)-------|bridge|---------|test PC| I'm building a bridge from an old Dell Optiplex GX1 desktop. Using kernel-2.6.9-gentoo-r4, with bridging and ebtables compiled into the kernel; the two PCI NICs are Intel, and the e100

VM nic not taking IP address
I have a DomU as a firewall (using the Dom0 kernel). I hid the three nics from Dom0 and assigned them to the firewall VM. The firewall VM sees the three nics no problem. Eth0 comes up and grabs an IP automatically from my DHCP server, however eth1 and eth2 are configured with static IPs but they do not come up with an IP: Here is my ''ifconfig'': [root@fw01 ~]# ifconfig eth0

2nd NIC troubles
Hi All, I have 2 NICS in this system. CentOS 6.4 eth0 is the virtual IP from PFSense mapping connected to the router, works fine. eth1 is a second NIC that I have assigned a private IP to and connected it to a switch on the private network. I have many other private devices, so I know this setup works. When I connect the cable to the switch and bring up eth1 the system basically stops taking

domU, Failed to obtain physical IRQ, e1000 Intel NIC
Hello all. I''ve upgraded my drives, and in doing so loaded FC8. Latest kernel-xen.x86_64 (2.6.21.7-5) and xen.x86_64 (3.1.2-5) available, using 2 Intel NICs with e1000 driver. All worked fine on FC5 with custom domU FC5 with pcifront and NIC drivers in kernel. Now, I''m unable to get the NICs to function inside my domU. The are visible in lspci, and ipconfig. DomU dmesg

Multiple NIC usage in RHEL5
Hello all, I''m using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (with RH Virtualization) and a Dell Poweredge 2950 with 10 NICs. My virtual operating systems are all RHEL4, and I''ve installed 4 instances. I''m trying to set up the virtual operating systems so that the physical NICs are allocated to certain operating systems. Using the following tutorial:

Can't assign the 2nd MAC address to the VM
to all who read this message, I can't assign the second MAC to the second NIC for a VM. If only use 1 NIC, assigning MAC works. But not for 2 NICs or more. Do anyone has any ideas? I have installed KVM on Ubuntu 11.10 64bit on my laptop. Also created the bridge on the host, and also taps. I created a RHEL 6.1 64bit VM on this environment and run: sudo kvm -m 512 -drive

again, nic driver order
I have two servers with identical hardware ... TYAN i3210w system boards with dual intel gigabit interfaces, and a PCI intel gigabit nic. I'm running Centos 5.4, x86_64, 2.6.18-164.6.1.el5 Every other time I reboot, the nics initialize in a different order. anaconda had setup /etc/modprobe.conf with alias lines for the cards: alias eth0 e1000 alias eth1 e1000e alias eth2 e1000e However,

error enable msi for guest 4 status fffffff0 (link of nic exposed directly to domU using pciback stays down)
Hi xen-devel, I have been trying to pcihide a NIC from dom0 and directly claim it on domU. The dom0 had come up with the bnx2 driver claiming the nic card, but after that i did an unbind and bound the pciback driver with this interface. lspci on domU shows the only pci device and it is claimed by the bnx2 driver. However the link of the interface as shown by ethtool continues to be down. [BRIDGE]A basic question: what's the relationship of the Rx/Tx packets count between the bridge and its enslaved NIC.
I have a bridge br0, it enslaves two NICs: eth0 and eth1. By using "cat /proc/net/dev ", i can see the Rx/Tx packets and bytes through each interface. just like this: [* time tick 1 *] Inter-| Receive | Transmit face |bytes packets errs drop fifo frame compressed multicast|bytes packets errs drop fifo colls carrier compressed

2.6.18 xen kernel not loading NIC drivers
I have a Supermicro X8SSAX mother board with 2 onboard Intel 82574L Gigabit NICs. Stock Centos 5.5 install with the e1000e.ko driver updated to the latest from Intel website (1.2.10-NAPI) I am attempting to get a bonded interface working, but while mucking around I noticed the NICs are behaving oddly in the xen kernel, but work fine in the non-xen kernel. When I boot dom0 into
