AJAX GET requests returning "uninitialized constant Mime::RJS"
Hey all, I thought this was working until recently. I''m using
link_to_remote:
link_to_remote("More info", :url => user_path(user),
:update =>
"show_#{user.id}",
:method => :get) #
NOTE: "GET" request
This then updates a hidden div ("show_123"

RJS-Template and link_to_remote
Hi, I am quite new to rails and can''t use any rjs-templates.
The problem is, that he can''t use/find the methods in that template
e.g. ''page'' or ''replace_html''. I get an error message on these
methods.
Here''s what I got so far in my example:

R-beta: auto save
I'm just about to put an autosave feature into R as per
requests by Peter and Kurt.
My current thinking is that it should be an option so that it
is setable (in the profile if you want). One simply specifies the
number of commands that are executed between calls to save.
It won't be incremental; I'll just dump the output of ls().
I think that the file name should not be .RData but

prototype PeriodicalExecuter pause/restart patch
I''ve come up with a patch to PeriodicalExecuter which allows for
pausing and restarting without losing the time remaining. I''ve
searched for something like this, but the only one I found linked to a
dead blog. I wondered if anyone would look over the code, maybe it
will make its way into the official release.

Does prototype get rid of PeriodicalExecuter once it is stop()?
Hello,
in my app the user can click "start" to ask for regular refreshments
of the data, and can also click "stop" to stop this refreshments (and
then he can click "start" again to restart the process). im just
wondering that , if he keeps starting and stopping, that is creating
new PeriodicalExecuters and stoping them, if there will be any memory
issues, does

respond_to formats, fbml and fbjs
In my controllers I have a respond_to block for both fbml and fbjs.
I created the fbjs mime type in environment.rb:
Mime::Type.register "application/javascript", :fbjs
However, even if I specify fbjs in a parameter name format during AJAX
post requests, it is being overwritten by Rails or Facebooker as FBML.
I confirmed this by placing logger.debug params[:format] immediately

Just a thought ...
Dear all
As someone who leaves his R session open for days - even longer - because
only I access the computer it is on, I very occasionally crash it (my most
recent success was to use a very long plot() which it turned out have both
'l' and a 'b' without keyword!).
I try to be careful, preserving essential bits of coding in an adjacent
emacs screen and doing save.image() from

render yield?!
Hello,
I''ve got a little problem with remote functions. I call it for example
like this: <%= link_to_remote ''bla'', :url => ''bla/whatever'', :method =>
:get %>
that function would be:
def whatever
flash[:notice] = "You''re in whatever!"
update_content
end
since I don''t want the page to be reloaded completely,

Make Asset Pipeline compatible with Chrome DevTools Autosave
https://github.com/NV/chrome-devtools-autosave doesn’t play nice with Asset
Pipeline. https://github.com/NV/chrome-devtools-autosave/issues/27
The culprit of the problem is in the asset’s URLs. I cannot decipher a file
path by its URL. For instance, /assets/main.css?body=1 could be either
app/assets/stylesheets/main.css, lib/assets/stylesheets/main.css
or vendor/stylesheets/main.css.

Graceful degrading AJAX show/hide
Ok i''ve done a bit of hunting around and I can''t find much
documentation on how ensure an ajax call through an rjs file degrades
with javascript off.
Essentially, if javascript is off, I want to refresh the page and pass
a variable from the controller to the page the user is on. Not use the
rjs file.
At the moment i have this:

Dissappearing gnome terminal contents
Hi.
I was not able to find any notice of this issue in either the forums or
bugzilla (http://bugs.opencompositing.org/) (is that still used btw) so
I am posting it here in the hope that it is useful to someone.
I am using gentoo and gnome 2.20 and the compiz version from git
sources.
When I maximize (vertically, horizontally, both) a gnome-terminal
window the contents of the terminal window

Turn off Responder for PeriodicalExecuter?
I''ve got a PeriodicalExecuter refreshing some content on my homepage. I''ve also got a Responder
popping up a ''Working...'' box when ajax calls are being made. Is there a way to tell the Responder
not to run when the PE is running?
I''m new to prototype and scriptaculous so no assumptions of my knowledge are too low. :)
