kickstart + domU for static IP
I've set up a local webserver to store kickstart files for domUs. All
parameters are respected apart from the network settings. DomU always
gets DHCP. Can any one help to unwrap this one? Does one add hostname,
ip, netmask and gateway values to the /etc/xen/blah.cfg file?

domUs not booting 2-core box, clues required
Chaps,
Do any of run Xen on a 2-core box that you built from source? If so
did you build your own images? I''m curious as I''ve built images on a
single-core node and they run --fine-- on that machine.
However, as soon as they start on a two-core box they die.

Creation of additional image within a domU
Chaps,
Perhaps this question is a little basic for this list but I''m not
really sure of the simplest method or best tool for the job.
I''ve created some images with `dd=/dev/zero ....` and I''m using them
for the domUs now. Some of them have been running for a few months
with no probs. Trouble is that I''d like to create a separate partition
within the domU.

Cobbler or manual set up for local repo
Chaps,
Is cobbler overkill or is it simpler to set up a local repo and rsync
it with a mirror?

Subnet Browsing, Halfway There
I have a network which consists of two subnets, each with a linux server
providing Samba services. With the configuration listed below, I have
successfully achieved Subnet B being able to browse Subnet A but, Subnet
A cannot browse Subnet B (sharename not found). Is it a Samba
configuration issue or is it DNS? (I have it fixed if I put an
/etc/lmhosts file on Linux Server A that has the host

xen 3.4.3 on CentOS 5.5 dom0: multiple nic issue -- eth1 won''t restart
Hi Folks:
I have a strange problem with multiple (2) NICs on a CentOS 5.5 dom0
setup running xen 3.4.3 and have been struggling to fix it for some
time. I could not find anything by googling or searching through this
list but that is probably because I couldn''t figure out the correct
search terms.
After I configure my bridges the command "system network restart" fails

Best way to exploit VT chip
Chaps,
I finally have access to a VT enabled box. What would be the best way
to get the most out of Xen and VT? A number of questions here. Bear
with me. They may seem simple but all I did previously was get the
source code, study it a bit, read the README and build from source.
Now that I have a dual-core machine how does Xen know how to split
resources for the instances?
Does one give any

Sorry for refering so late to a (securityfocus) post, but the Subject
has been nagging me for the last month ;-) Problem was how to keep your
DISPLAY, xauth and security (no 'ssh root at host' over the net) when
changing users remotely

Unable to get dummy interfaces to persist across reboots in CentOS 8
No. Network Manager is always disabled on our builds since at least
Cent5 days. The network stack has always been able to be managed
properly without relying on Network Manager. Is that now an absolute
requirement? It never has been prior.

Requirement is a very strong word , but you should consider using it and here is a short demo why:
- By default, RHEL uses NetworkManager to configure and manage network connections, and the /usr/sbin/ifup and /usr/sbin/ifdown scripts use NetworkManager to process ifcfg files in the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ directory.
[root at system ~]# ls -l /usr/sbin/ifup
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 22 21
