SSH PAM authentication/login with a new user DB (through NSS)
Hello,
I'm a novice system programmer and I need some knowledge about how
sshd/PAM/NSS work together. The email may be long and unclear, but I
would greatly appreciate if any one could give me some info. TIA.
I'm developing a new authentication module for Linux login service. I'm
like a novice developer in this area, so I had to study this and that. I
started with PAM naively,

[PATCH] xen: arm: improve VMID allocation.
The VMID field is 8 bits. Rather than allowing only up to 256 VMs per host
reboot before things start "acting strange" instead maintain a simple bitmap
of used VMIDs and allocate them statically to guests upon creation.
This limits us to 256 concurrent VMs which is a reasonable improvement.
Eventually we will want a proper scheme to allocate VMIDs on context switch.

Structure of the Xen source code
Structure of the Xen source code
hi all,
I installed Xen on my Gentoo machine successfully from source.
Now i am going through the code.
instead of banging aimlessly for a week or so i thought i should ask the mailing list the following small doubts.
I noticed that following directories are there in my
xen-3.0.3_0-src directories.
1. linux-2.6.-xen-sparse
2. pristine-linux-2.6.16.29

succesfully boot from it the system just hangs here:

xn0: Ethernet address: aa:00:00:61:1c:d4
lo0: bpf
I have modified /sbin/start_freebsd.sh and /etc/xen/freebsd.py to generate

Re: How to assign IP via virt-install
You've not given libvirt anything to install; therefore, it has nothing it
can tell about the IP address. Are you intending, for example, to add a
mapping between MAC and IP address to a DHCP server for later use?

New VM Snapshot API Not working
All,
Ok, I got it working.....
Problem was that I didnt include xen option for configure step.
But looks like Xen Hypervisor does not have support of Snapshot. :(
I guess I have to fall back to save and restore method...
Sorry for the noise.
Thanks
Tej

callerid validation and expression parser problems on Solaris 10
Greetings to All.
A little background about what I am trying to do, and please excuse the
length of this post.
I am setting up a voicemail (VM) system based on Asterisk. From what I've
heard Vonage uses Asterisk as their VM platform as well. I am running

files and vm messages are being stored through an NFS

[Bridge] RSTP user mode implementation
Hi,
I am working on implementations of RSTP and MSTP.
It would be of great help of me if you could provide me with a robust
open source implementation of RSTP and MSTP which I can have a look upon
and some guidelines on how to implement/configure on Linux.
Looking for a positive response soon.
Regards,
Abhishek.

unsolicited NOTIFY messages from Asterisk
hi,
i am getting unsolicited NOTIFY messages from Asterisk after the
subscription.
Is this type of NOTIFY messages is supported in any of the RFCs..?
Because, the SIP stack with 3265 compliance, does not support any such
NOTIFY messages and discarding those.
I need the justification for this kind of NOTIFY messages sent by Asterisk.
I need your valuable inputs...
Thanks in Advance,

I'm trying trying to draw a colour wheel (a slice of hcl space) in R.
Running the code below doesn't give me what I expect - there's some
oddly bright colours of the wrong hue around c(0, 0) and I see three
coloured circles (a small magenta, a medium sized yellow and a large
cyan). Am I doing something wrong or is there a bug in the hcl code?
(Also any suggestions for
