Highlighint rjs problem on a new product
Hi, Problem Summary: I have been trying to add the highlight effect to my table but everytime a new record is added the highlighting gives an rjs error. However when i click the add to cart button on a product that already exists inside the table, the highlight effect works. Is this because the partial must only have only one <tr></tr> in it and the <table> must be on the other

Hello, I''m working through the tutorial, and I''ve run into a little snag. In the first part of the tutorial, the destroy link is not working correctly. I can''t figure out where I goofed. Removing :confirm doesn''t seem to resolve the issue. Thanks, Randy. development.log ----->8----- Processing AdminController#destroy (for 127.0.0.1 at 2006-04-27

actions with no views?
In Depot, the demo application in the the Agile book, actions that modify the model such as add_to_cart redirect to another action that has a clear view role, like index, or show_cart, instead of generating the view themselves. This uses an HTTP redirect that goes to the client and returns. Is this an idiomatic way to design the flow in Rails? -- fxn

[ADV] Making space: First Edition AWDwR Paper Books: $12.50
When we announced the second edition of Agile Web Development with Rails back in May, we pretty much killed the sales of the first edition paper book. So now, with the second edition just a few months away, we need to clear out some space. So, if you''d like to pick up a first edition paper book, they''re going (while stocks last) for $12.50 (plus shipping) from

Try-Catch AWDWR P3.0, Sect9.2,Mid pg 121.
On page 118, file store_controller.rb, the "redirect_to_index" is added. At mid page 120, that line is removed. When the browser is first sent to the ":3000/store", the page displays properly. But when the Add to Cart button is clicked, the browser displays the text of a try-catch block (see below). There is no error message - the browser clearly sees text to be displayed. If I

NoMethodError in Agile Web Devleopment Depot Tutorial
I''m working on building the shopping cart in the Depot tutorial in the Agile Web Development book. I''m at the part (about page 80) where you build the ability to add items to the cart. I''m able to get to /store/display_cart/ and it seems items are being added, but if I just click on a link to add an item (/store/add_to_cart/2) it gives me this: NoMethodError in

RJS render errors when user clicks away before render completes
We have an issue where we are using RJS templates to render the results of Ajax calls. Everything works fine so long as the user waits for the render to occur. However, if the user initiates the request and the RJS template is still in the process of rendering, but hasn''t completed, and the user clicks a different link, then we get a Javascript alert popup "Unexpected Server
