DomU in it''s own LVM partition fails to boot CentOS 5.2 Dom0/U
I''m trying to do what I think would be relatively simple but can''t seem to make it work. Essentially I want to create several domU''s running CentOS each with it''s own LVM partition for increased performance over image files. Initially I did a test with image files and everything went fine, I booted the supplied initrd and vmlinuz images installed CentOS from

Ubuntu 8.04 DomU image from jailtime.org on CentOS 5.2 Dom0
Hello all, I am trying to get an Ubuntu 8.04 image running on my CentOS 5.2 Dom0 which so far has only been running CentOS 5.2 DomUs. The image I am trying to run was fetched from jailtime.org (just so I didn't have to go through building an image for myself). The configuration of the DomU is based on what the guys at jailtime.org provided and its as follows name = "redgum"

RFH: loopback & blktap(2) and CDROM
Hello, I''m currently trying to understand some problems I had in the past with mixing look-back with blktap(2) for HV and PV domains. I''m stuck reading the source code, so I''d like to get some help from the list. Interrupt me if I got something fundamentally wrong in my understanding so far: 1. With pure-HV the domU gets an emulated IDE (or whatever) disk. The

new user - new issues
Just installed Xen 3 on FC5 that all went smooth following: http://www.fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraXenQuickstart I want to however create a FC4 virtual machine - I attepmpted to use the image at: http://jailtime.org but it doesnt seem to work (networking fail, most else works great) -- I am thinking that it is because those are for Xen 2 (??) So, is there another place to get images for Xen 3?

I am using Xen 3.2 (compiled from source) on top of FC8-64bit. I am using a jailtime.org file system image for FC 64 bit as my Dom U. Thanks DM

how to resize a partition of a disk define as a physical volume
Hello, I have a CentOS VM with only one disk on a Xenserver. The disk has 2 partitions: /dev/xvda1 -> /boot /dev/xvda2 -> a physical volume for LVM I added 5GB to this disk via Xencenter to extend /dev/xvda2. Usually I just have to do "pvresize /dev/xvda" to have the additional space added to the disk. But for some reason it does not work for this disk. [root ~]# pvresize

CentOS 4.4 Xen VM/VPS install on CentOS 5 (xen kernel) issues
Ok So I''ve been able to successfully create a CentOS5 virt-install on xen using LVM created partitions. But have many problems trying to install 4.4 (It does not work with virt-install hence you have to try another method). I Created a name, name-tmp, name-swap, name-root paritions. I did mke2fs and mkswap no problem everything is good. I went on further to mount the name-tmp and
