Proxy ARP with a Coyote Point equalizer
Here is a puzzle.
I have a network with several servers. It''s a mess. It''s a /24 and
pieces and servers are all over the place inside this /24 block, on both
sides of the firewall. For example, the router at 1.2.3.1 is outside
the firewall and many of the servers at 1.2.3.nnn/24 are behind the
firewall. (Obviously, 1.2.3.nnn is a fudged network.)

Recent hypervisor update on Debian Wheezy breaks domU networking
Hi,
Firstly I apologise for the cross-post, however I don't expect to get as
quick a response from the package maintainers as I do from the Debian
community, and this issue affects a service that I've got scheduled to go
live at midnight this evening. :(
A recent update from xen-hypervisor-4.1-amd64 version 4.1.3-7, to version

Xen domU default gateway missing/ARP table full
I have been trying to figure out why my domU NIC becomes unreachable
(could not even ping) at various times. (Normally when the server was
trying to update clamav from the various busy mirrors at 4am). There
also seemed to be some latency when connecting which I chalked up to it
being a virtual machine.
When I checked my logs, I found thousands of :

How to make a customized, unattended install for FreeBSD?
I would like to customize our store-bought, bootable FreeBSD CD
so that it does a non-interactive (or minimally interactive ;-)
install.
The interim solution we've devised has our lab execution
techs booting from a CD and then using the Sysinstall "Load config
file" menu option to load an "install.cfg" file from a floppy.
We'd like to eliminate this step by

Tunneling public ips, proxy arp, tinc config
Hi,
I have a question. I have a routeable /24 netblock including a server at a
colocation and I would like to use tincd to tunnel part of that netblock to
an internal network on another location being connected to the internet via
gateway with DSL link and a single static IP address, so I can use public
routable IP addresses on the local network.
I have tincd 1.0 pre7 installed on both the local

Cannot ping DomU from Dom0 / cannot ping same site from two DomUs at the same time
Hello!
I have two problems. One is, that I cannot ping a DomU from Dom0 (or any
other host in my local network) and the second one is, that I cannot
ping the same site (eg. www.suse.com) from two DomU''s at the same time.
I have a fresh installation of openSuse 11.0 with Kernel
2.6.25.20-0.1-xen and my box has two physical ethernet cards.
As far as I have investigated, eth0 is the one

customize xen kernel with rpmbuild
Hello
I try to customize the name of my kernel.
I use the rpm source on the download page for the RHEL4.4 and I would like to differenciate the domO and the domU.
cd /usr/src/redhat
rpmbuild -ba SPEC/myspec.spec
In the spec file I tested to change ''%define kernelvariant xen'' to ''%define kernelvariant xenHAHAHA''
or other variables with no success

Changing MAC address of Xen domU after live migration?
Hi,
For my experiment on live migration of Xen VMs, I want the MAC address of
the migrated VM (domU) to change soon after migration, but just before the
Gratuitous ARP reply is sent. Do you know where in the code/scripts I can
add this feature?
Thanks,
Vikram

Hi all,
Does any one know if this is normal operating of ARP. Or where to start
looking.
I am seeing a lot of ARP requests for my router IP from the same IP within
seconds.

Strange network issue; Guest/DomU outgoing traffic
Hello all,
I''ve recently observed some strange behaviour on several DomU (spread
over several xen setups). While I''ve found a few reports on similar
issues, the discussions were fairly old and discontinued without
providing a cause or solution.
Every once in a while (sometimes with an interval of several months) I
get a "host down" alert for a guest host. The host is

No connection in DomUs with network-route
Hi,
I would like to know if somebody can point me out how to configure
several DomUs in a private LAN (for example 192.168.100.0/24) and one
DomU with two interfaces (one - 192.168.100.0/24 and two - internet).
So far I have enabled in xend-config.sxp:
(network-script network-route)
(vif-script vif-route)
My config files have:
/mnt/VM/1.cfg:vif = [''ip=192.168.1.3'']

Re: Network filters with clean-traffic not working on Debian Stretch
Dear Yalang,
that did the trick. If I look in the NAT table of the bridge I can see
the generated rules. Probably wouldn't have though about that ever.
Thanks a lot!
Best
Sam

problem with the "arp" command (using the pub flag)
Hi all.
I experienced a strange behaviour in the "arp" command when I use the
"pub" (publishing) flag.
This is the scenario (I know it''s an unusual one, but it''s just for a test):

The strange case of xen_netback not returning ARP replies
Hello,
I''m facing a rather strange problem with the netback interface. My setup
involves a netvm, which has some physical network interfaces assigned,
and a client VM where a net front is running (exposed as eth0) and which
is connected to that netvm (via vif42.0 interface, as seen in the netvm
on the dumps below).
Now, the netvm has two physical network interfaces assigned:

arp who-has packets not seen in Dom0 even by tcpdump
Hi all,
I''m running Xen-3.2 and linux-image-2.6.18 as Dom0 kernel on a VT-x
processor. The problem is that broadcast arp who-has packets are not
seen in Dom0 kernel. I''ve tried both precompiled debian kernel and
compiled latest one from sources as described at
