Subdomain Account Keys Best Practice
Hi all,
I''m thinking of useing sub-domains as account keys, something I''ve played
with previously.
I have accounts and users, fairly standard, except that users can belong to
many accounts, and accounts can have many users.
So I figure I need to have an area on the main domain, that allows users to
view their account memberships and things. Sort of like a dashboard for
each

OT: default password for HP printer
Thanks, Tim. But no, that didn't work. For the record, that page said:
1) password access requirement is turned OFF
2) username default is ADMIN
3) password is BLANK
But I distinctly recall the username is "admin" (all lower case), even
though the manual stated the username was "Admin".
The password was short, like 5 or 6 characters, but definitely not blank.

Yeah, as said in my original post, I have googled for the answer... and
extensively... three different search strings. And I've read posts up

Frustrated. Java on Centos 6 doesn't give an error message when downloading from a Samsung Galaxy S3
SUMMARY:
Maybe this all boils down to "how do we debug when Java fails on Centos 6?
DETAILS:
If you don't have the Samsung Galaxy S3, then you might not realize how
frustratingly difficult it is to transfer multiple files from the
smartphone to Centos 6.
It should be as simple as hooking up a USB cable and dragging and
dropping (which it is, on most other smartphones, including the

GFS performance issue
Two web servers, both virtualized with CentOS Xen servers as host
(residing on two different physical servers).
GFS used to store home directories containing web document roots.
Shared block device used by GFS is an ISCSI target with the ISCSI
initiator residing on the Dom-0, and presented to Dom-U webservers as
drives.
Also, providing a second shared block device for quorum disk.

Correct, resumable, large-file flags
Hello.
I'm a long-time rsync user, but I've encountered a case today and I
just can't seem to get rsync to do the right thing.
I want to mirror a directory A on server www1.example.com to a
directory B on www2.example.com. The directory A contains very
large but essentially read-only files. A server process on
www1.example.com periodically creates new large files and deletes old

Capistrano with CVS repository doesn''t seem to work
All,
Does anyone has any experience with Capistrano against a CVS repository?
I am unable to successfully pull a revision onto my remote server when
hitting a CVS repository.
Here is the relevant output from the cap "update_code" task:

Server not responding after Samba upgrade
Hi all,
I used to run Samba 2.2.9 on Debian Woody. Yesterday I upgraded it (with
all necessary packages) to 3.0.7. Since then, Samba on that server do
not respond to netbios queries, only to direct access via IP. Also,
when I try to resolv its name using nmblookup, I cannot find it.
When I access to server via IP address everything works fine.
Any idea ?
TIA

get_pin for scard-opensc.c
I'm attaching a patch to allow ssh client to get a pin from the command line
when using a smartcard. Most of it is from a patch by Danny De Cock
<godot () ulyssis ! org>, but I've used the ssh read_passphrase function
instead. Any errors are mine, I'm sure.
This enables ssh -I 0 to use a pin-protected smartcard via opensc.
Thanks,
Kevin Stefanik

Problems with H323
Does anybody know a place where I can download a working PWLIB and H323?
The files at www3.openh323.org are not in gzip format (according to the
error message I receive)
gunzip: pwlib_1.4.11.tar.gz: not in gzip format
I have also tried using the tar -xzvf command, and that gives the following
error:
gzip: stdin: not in gzip format

Centos 6 installation problem on i7 machine
I want to confirm that the solution posed by Ren? re installing kmod-fglrx from elRepo also works well for HP Proliant servers (in my case DL360 G6) with ATI gfx to restore the text boot progress display and virtual terminals.? Kudos for ending a long and maddening search for a fix.

Need a Centos 6 USB hard drive recovery procedure
My 15GB backup USB drive somehow got "corrupted" such that
a "chkdsk /f E:" on WinXP removed the file allocation table
(or whatever) making the NTFS drive appear empty.
I tried Windows Recuva freeware to recover the files, and
it has been working for 24 hours; but it has dumped about
65,000 files into a separate flat Windows directory.

rsync question: building list taking forever
Guys,
I've setup an rsync between two directories that I've mounted locally on a
jump box. Long story short, the two directories are both NFS shares from
two different hosts. Our security dept won't allow us to SSH between the
two data centers, directly. But the jump host can contact both. So what
I've done is mount the NFS shares from one host in each data center on the
jump box
