Anyone running Xen on HP DL380 G5? Intel 5150 and 5160 CPU''s?
I''ve got a client demanding the use of HP DL380 G5''s, for various historical reasons, for a server room. I''m going nuts trying to figure out if the available CPU''s for them support VT, so I can avoid building them a separate Windows box. Unfortunately, the local web proxy is overloaded, so actually browsing the JavaScript/image loaded web pages for HP is

Anyone able to NFS boot on xen 4.x ?
Has anyone been able to get domU NFS boots working with any version of Xen 4.x? If so, can you please post your config? Both the dom0 Xen version & kernel, as well as the domU config file. I''ve spent a lot of time running through all the docs, HOWTO''s and published configs and assorted patches for Ubuntu 9x-10x and Xen 4x trying NFS booting with each. I''m not going

1/2 OFF-TOPIC: How to use CLVM (on top AoE vblades) instead just plain LVM for Xen based VMs on Debian 5.0?
Guys, I have setup my hard disc with 3 partitions: 1- 256MB on /boot; 2- 2GB on / for my dom0 (Debian 5.0) (eth0 default bridge for guests LAN); 3- 498GB exported with vblade-persist to my network (eth1 for the AoE protocol). On dom0 hypervisor01: vblade-persist setup 0 0 eth1 /dev/sda3 vblade-persist start all How to create a CVLM VG with /dev/etherd/e0.0 on each of my dom0s? Including the

AoE LVM2 DRBD Xen Setup
Hello everybody, I am in the process of setting up a really cool xen serverfarm. Backend storage will be an LVMed AoE-device on top of DRBD. The goal is to have the backend storage completely redundant. Picture: |RAID| |RAID| |DRBD1| <----> |DRBD2| \ / |VMAC| | AoE | |global LVM VG| / | \ |Dom0a| |Dom0b| |Dom0c| | |

handling mac addresses and guid''s
Hi, I like Xen''s feature of autogenerating those values if they are not supplied in a config file, but for sake of persistency I want to inherit the once-generated values and reuse them after the first creation of a domU. I found it possible to query the values at runtime using xm list --long but I''m not sure I''m going the most elegant route with that, it would mean

Igraph library: How to calculate APSP (shortest path matrix) matrix for a subset list of nodes.
Dear R Users, I have a network of 25000 total nodes and a list of 500 node which is a subset of all nodes. Now I want to calculate the APSP (all pair shortest path) matrix only for these 500 nodes. I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance Dinesh -- Dinesh Kumar Barupal Research Associate Metabolomics Fiehn Lab UCD Genome Center 451 East Health Science Drive GBSF Builidng University of

Shortest RFC ever: I propose we rename files using `.TXT` extension to use `.txt`
Why? Because we have a mixture scattered about the codebase, but only a very few with `.TXT`. I like consistency. It makes my obsessive tendancies happy. Is this important? Nope. Why am I asking first? Because its possible someone, somewhere will be disrupted by this so I figured I'd ask first. -Chandler -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

hello and aoe booting
hi to the list, Hello everyone, I am new in the world of pxe booting and i try to use AOE to boot my linux debian lenny machines. I install the linux like this: parted -s /dev/etherd/e10.1 mklabel gpt parted -s /dev/etherd/e10.1 mklabel gpt parted -s /dev/etherd/e10.1 mkpart primary ext3 17408B 314590207B parted -s /dev/etherd/e10.1 mkpart primary ext3 314590208B 3535815679B parted -s

/lib/modules...
So. I understand this isn''t properly a xen question, although it is something that I am encountering rather /because/ of setting up xen. I''ve successfully compiled a domU kernel and laid it over a rhel4u4 os installed into an image file. One of the things that happens during boot is that redhat doesn''t find the right subdirectory for the domU kernel version in

AOE (Ata over ethernet) troubles on xen 2.0.6
I understand that all work is going into xen3, but I had wanted to note that aoe (drivers/block/aoe) is giving me trouble on xen 2.0.6 (so we can keep and eye on xen3). Specifically I can''t see nor export AOE devices. As a quick background on AOE, it is not IP (not routable, etc), but works with broadcasts and packets to MAC addresses (see http://www.coraid.com). (for anyone who

[Bridge] aoe/vblade on "localhost"
hello ! i try to use a network technology on one single host, which wasn`t designed for that. to give a short overview of what i`m talking about: AoE is just like a "networked blockdevice" (just like nbd/enbd) - but without tcp/ip. AoE kernel driver is the "client end" (see this like an iSCSI initiator) - and an etherblade storage appliance is the "server end"

Syslinux 3.70pre9 - sanboot.c32 says: gPXE API not detected'
Hi, I have a working PXE environment that chainloads gPXE and loads pxelinux.0 afterwards. As I'm also interested in doing san boot (in my case aoe) I tried loading the new gpxelinux.0 file instead of my gPXE --> pxelinux.0 setup (works) and booting from my aoe target by adding this to the default config file: LABEL doaoe MENU LABEL Continue AoE kernel sanboot.c32 append

live migration breaking...aoe issue?
I am trying to get a proof-of-concept type setup going...I have a storage box and 2 xen servers...I am using file based disk that live on the aoe device...i can run the vm from either host without issue...when I run the live migration, the domain leaves the xm list on host 1 and shows up on host 2 (however there is a pause for pings of about 2 minutes?)...after it is on host 2, I can xm console

Aoe or iScsi???
Hi people... Here we use Xen 4 with Debian Lenny... We''re using kernel 2.6.31.13 pvops... As a storage system, we use AoE devices... So, we installed VM''s on AoE partition... The "NAS" server is a Intel based baremetal with SATA hard disc... However, sometime I feeling that VM''s is so slow... Also, all VM has GPLPV drivers installed... So, I am thing about

Xen/AoE skb frag array incompatibility
Greetings, Xen developers! I have been using AoE with Xen to great effect and I am very pleased with how the whole system has worked out. The two technologies really complement each other. I consider it the ultimate setup. Aside from the network switch (eventually to be remedied) my serving infrastructure has zero single points of failure. However, this virtualization paradise has a flaw:

XCP ethernet jumbo frames????
Hi, I have an XCP 0.5 box running a few DomUs some of the DomU''s data is stored at (clustered lvm volumes on) a Coraid etherdrive box which is connected via an Ethernet cable to a dedicated card of the XCP box, for which in the network config I'' ve specified: MTU=9344: xe network-param-list uuid=.... gives: MTU ( RW): 9344 on the DomUs if I leave the MTU at 1500 (default

xen hvmloader gpxe
I am testing several Operating System Streaming products to streams virtual desktops. They always requires pxe boot but xen seems to have a pxe which is not suitable. I got the same problem with kqemu and kvm and I solved it using gpxe. With xen I tried to chainloading gpxe (following gpxe wiki) but hvmloader fails to load it (memory problem?). Any workaround
