Problem trying to use vcpus > 1
I am running xen 3.0.3_11774, which I assume is patch level 11774 of 3.0.3,
but I am not sure.
This is the standard version included with OpenSuse 10.2
I am running OpenSuse 10.2 as the host dom0, on a quad-core AMD processor.
The guest is running with full virtualization, and is also OpenSuse 10.2
No matter what I set vcpus to in the .hvm config file, the guest only sees a
single processor.

CPU feature 'svm' not reported inside guest without 'host-passthrough'
Hi,
I am confused by the behaviour of the CPU description in my VM. I have a host with an AMD CPU with
SVM feature and I want to try nested virtualization on a Fedora22 guest. The host is Fedora22 as well.

I tried 'custom' mode with model qemu64 with required feature 'SVM' but '/proc/cpuinfo' in the guest

CPU Hot Plug/Unplug with KVM on CentOS
Hello,
I'm trying to plug and unplug cpus with a host CentOS 7 on a guest machine
with CentOS too. I have created the guest with virt-install command,
modified my domxml to have maximum 4 vcpus and updated the current cpu to 2.
After that I open the virsh console, and used command setvcpus to
add/remove cpus. I was able to increase the vcpu count until 4 but can't
increase it after 4 as

Xen 4.2.0 - CPU Frequency Scaling
Hi,
This has been a problem since the xen-acpi-processor code was added to
the kernel source. I wasn''t sure if the problem I was seeing was
related to the old version (4.1.2) of Xen that I was using but now I''m
on 4.2.0 and it still exists I thought I would check if I have a
misconfiguration or if I have discovered a problem. My system is a dual

[PATCH v3 73/75] x86/sev-es: Support CPU offline/online
From: Joerg Roedel <jroedel at suse.de>
Add a play_dead handler when running under SEV-ES. This is needed
because the hypervisor can't deliver an SIPI request to restart the AP.
Instead the kernel has to issue a VMGEXIT to halt the VCPU. When the
hypervisor would deliver and SIPI is wakes up the VCPU instead.

[PATCH 1/4] p2v: Pass host CPU details to virt-v2v.
In the fake <domain type='physical'> libvirt XML that we create to
describe the physical host, we did not accurately pass any information
about the host CPU except the number of cores (<vcpu/>).
This commit extracts detailed information about the vendor, model and
topology of the host CPU and adds that to the libvirt XML for
virt-v2v. Conveniently we can use libvirt

RE: Can''t show all cpu core in the top.
Hi Everyone,
I install XCP on a 12 core server, and with Hyper threading the core should show 24 core,
When I use “top”, it only show 4 cpu, and I use cat /proc/cpuinfo it’s the same,
But when I user “xentop”, the Dom0 have 24 vcpu,
My question is ,how can I make sure the XCP use all CPU?
Can anybody give me some hint ?

Config to set CPU affinity and distribute interrupts
Hi,
I have some problems to configure the xen I''ve installed (3.3.1). The computer is a Intel Core 2 Duo, I''m using Ubuntu 8.10 and have linux in my dom0 and winxp pro in my domU.
I have two cores and I''d like to set the affinity of dom0 to cpu0 and domU to cpu1 but I haven''t find the way of making this permanent. I''ve set cpus=1 in the domU config

who to copy a registry file between users?
Hi,
I wounder if someone else had this same problem that I have, and solved it.
So here it goes...
I have 15 WinXP Pro workstations, on a Domain controlled by a Samba 2.2.8.
The domain has 36 users, each with an independent roaming profile, on the
PDC.
Every machine have Adobe Premiere installed. However Premiere's
configuration is saved on each user's registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive.

Possible VCPU hotplug bug
I am working on a project that uses OpenMP along with Xen''s VCPU
hotplug feature. The OpenMP libraries are used for writing
multi-threaded applications, and they have a function named
omp_get_num_procs() that is used to determine the number of processors
available on the system. I noticed that when using the xm vcpu-set
command in Xen to change the number of vcpus assigned to a domU

amd mobile on 1 cpu listed in /proc/cpuinfo
I just noticed that my Dual core mobile AMD ZM-82 is only showing
one processor in /proc/cpuinfo and not two.
Is there a reason? I am running centos 5.2 x86_64.

Running an exe from within a wined exe
Hi,
I'm using Wine to run on linux, an application build with vc++ 6.0. I've got
no problems running it, except when i try to create a child process to call
a a different executable that performs tasks needed to the main process, I
get no error or system failure, the process simply fails to be created..
The code i've done to do this is shown below. Do i need to invoke wine on
