Inserting rows into linking table
Hi, I have two objects: Contacts Lists I want to be able to add multiple contacts to multiple lists. I''ve created a linking table and a form that allows me to select the contacts using checkboxes, but I''m having some problems with the controller and model. I receive the following error message when I submit the form: Mysql::Error: Cannot add or update a child row: a

SIGTRAN Integration
Hello Everyone, I was wondering how SIGTRAN/SS7oIP can fit into our currently 100% SIP model. We are looking to interconnect with the PSTN world, and our supplier has given us a few options. We can either do this over traditional PRIs, A-Links or the SS7IP new. I am really interested in SIGTRAN, and was wondering how some of you have integrated it into your architecture. Can Asterisk handle

Formatting form tags for children of parrent data?
This my first Rails project. All my previous work was done it Perl, so I may be missing the Ruby/Rails obvious here. The site I''m working on needs to display archived programs. Some of the programs have multiple versions, all belonging to the same listing. As such, I''ve set-up an extra_files table related to the archive list. Displaying the extra files was trivial. However,

Passing quantity in a shopping cart
I am using this line on my index.rhtml page to capture the quantity required of a particular item for a basic shopping cart app: <%= text_field ''line_item'', ''quantity'', {:size=>3} %> </td> but my next screen (a cart screen) doesn''t reflect what was entered in that text field when the item is added to the cart. That is,

update or alter cart
I want to modify and update the items in the Depot - "display_cart". Since the cart is in a session, its a little hard to get at the data. I just want to create a way to change quantities, prices and recalculate. Has someone done this, and could you point me to the right direction. Thanks Chas -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Form with multiple rows of content
I have looked at examples for this. I found a similar example in the Agile Web Dev... book but that didn''t help. Here''s what i am trying to do. A Cart has many line items. On the Display Cart page, I want to provide the user the option to update quantities. Here''s the rhtml code: <%= start_form_tag :action => ''update_cart'' %>

active_record postgresql adapter problem
Instead of using numeric I created the field "unit_price" as PostgreSQL type money. Now when I try and add a row I get the following. How do I override AR default behaviour to cast numeric post data to money, or am I forced to only support database types that active_record knows about? RuntimeError: ERROR C42804 Mcolumn "unit_price" is of type money but expression is of

[Q] Get formal arguments of my implemented S4 method
I wish it didn't have to depend on the name '.local'. Back when I wrote a lot of S4 methods I avoided the auto-generated .local and named the local function something that made sense so that is was easier for a user to track down the source of an error. E.g., define the generic QQQ with numeric and integer methods: setGeneric("QQQ", function(x, ...)NULL)

No printers found!
Hi there, I've just installed the official wine 0.9.3 deb file from winehq on an x86_64 system running Ubuntu. After working out some library issues, everything seems to run fine, except that I can't print. CUPS seems to be set up fine. I have one printer configured which I can print to, yet when I try to print from any Windows application, it tells me that I must install a printer

Where to place a global function
Hi all, I have a little function called format_price(price) that simply formats the argument as a dollar sign, dollar amount, dot and penny amount. Then, in a .rhtml file, I could do this: <%= format_price(item.unit_price * item.quantity) %> But where do I put the format_price() function definition? The app couldn''t find it in app/controllers/application.rb. Where do I put it

Whats the best way to do this?
I have an archive that can have 0 or more extra files associated with it. I would like to be able to edit the associated files info on the same page as the archive info. Listing the extra files info to the edit form is simple enough, but How do I form the text input fields for easy (or automatic) pick-up in the update? Or am I barking up the wrong tree here? -- Posted via

[PATCH] hdt & gcc -Werror
From: Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com> Fix several calls to more_printf() as eventually printf() is called without a literal string which generate warnings with gcc and lead to errors when -Werror is active. Signed-off-by: Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com> The message "format not a string literal and no format arguments" at first seems strange but by doing this change

Would we really need the special class or would simply checking the formals of the method against those of the generic be simple and fast enough? As part of memory barrier cleanup, this patchset extends checkpatch to make it easier to stop incorrect memory barrier usage. This applies on top of my series arch: barrier cleanup + barriers for virt and will be included in the next version of the series. Michael S.
