OS/2 and eComStation
Hi, Hoping someone can help me with some question on Xen 3.x and Intel VT (Vanderpool) hardware. Can IBM OS/2 or Serenity Systems eComStation now be run with Xen and Intel Vanderpool enabled CPUs? If not, what is needed? Are any drivers needed? Do you know of anyone working on getting Xen to support OS/2 or eComStation? > Jan 21,2004, Mark A. Williamson wrote: > Afraid so. > With

httpd RPM newer than 2.0.63 avail for CentOS 4.x?
I'm maintaining an internet-facing web server which is now running httpd 2.0.63 (httpd-2.0.63-2.el4s1.centos.2) which is now neary 2.5 years old(!?!). I need to move to either 2.0.64 or 2.2.12 or later. However, I've been unable to find available RPMs for such releases for CentOS 4.x. I have to believe that others have these needs also. In light of this, how do others keep up with

HVM guest support unavailable
Hi, when I try to start a hvm the well known error message "Error: HVM guest support is unavailable: is VT/AMD-V supported by your CPU and enabled in your BIOS?" appears. I am using an Intel E8400 on Asus P5E VM DO Board. /proc/cpuinfo info shows that the CPU has vmx support. I have enabled "Vanderpool Technology" in BIOS. According to the xen user manual the package dev86

Mailing list policy
Hi all, right now the centos-virt at centos.org mailing list is set up such that all posts by people not subscribed to the list are auto-discarded. This is in line with all the other lists and I propose that we keep things as they are. The reason for this is that traditionally the amount of spam that centos lists are getting was very high. I am not sure this holds for centos-virt at

smbfs
Hi- I'm working on a graphical interface to smbclient/smbmount/smbumount. As part of its operation, it will mount shares in directories under a user's home directory. I've run into a bit of a problem regarding the distributions of the mount utilities, specifically on Redhat 5.1/5.2. They are shipping an RPM with smbfs 2.0.1, which is known to have a security hole... so it should

RE: Run xen with a dual boot system
There''s not a simple answer to this. First of all, this will not work with currently available hardware, at least not with Xen, because the current implementation of Xen on currently available hardware relies on Xen-friendly code in the OS, which is relatively easy on Linux and other Open Source OS''s, but becomes near impossible on closed source OS''s. printing from dos works...not from smbclient
Hi We have a newly started server(Sun-Fire-T200) running samba. From one day to another samba printing just stopped working. We have found out following: When forwarding printing to another server through printers.conf it works. When printing from dos through the command: echo ^MHello^L > \\servername\printer it also works. When right clicking on the printer choosing "Print test
