[PATCH] virtio-balloon spec: provide a version of the "silent deflate" feature that works
VIRTIO_BALLOON_F_MUST_TELL_HOST cannot be used properly because it is a
"negative" feature: it tells you that silent defalte is not supported.
Right now, QEMU refuses migration if the target does not support all the
features that were negotiated. But then:
- a migration from non-MUST_TELL_HOST to MUST_TELL_HOST will succeed,
which is wrong;
- a migration from MUST_TELL_HOST to

Cleanup/build improvement for opus
Hello all,
after FOMS I decided to take a look at the opus library and I found
that I could improve a bit the build system and cleanup the code a
little bit.
Most of the changes to the code has been suggested by my two tools
cowstats and missingstatic (part of the ruby-elf gem if you care).

Study design question; MLB; pay and performance.
Dear List Members,
I am in the process of designing a study examining pay and performance
in Major League Baseball across several seasons, and before I get too
deeply into it, I'd like to ask whether the group members think that
performance across seasons is independent, or if it needs to be treated
like a time-series variable so that lack of independence can be controlled.
Any ideas or

plot(pam.object) error with R-1.7.0 on Red-Hat 8.0 i686
I don't know if there is some fault in compiling or a bug of the new
R-1.7.0 version:
cl.pam.2 <- pam(as.dist(1-cor(mel.data)),2)
plot(cl.pam.2)
perform a right partitioning and silhouette plot on the old R-1.6.2
instead
"Error in clusplot.default(x$diss,...... ;
x is not numeric"
is the output on the new R-1.7.0.
Same platform: RH8.0 i686.
Some suggestions?

A Stylesheet for a database app
Hi to all, I''m a new subscriber of this list and a new user of RoR.
I''m looking for a stylesheet to make a simple database app nicer, a css to
start working with.
I have to do some simple apps and I want them to be the more uniform on the
presentation side.
I know I can do it for myself, but a nice stylesheet is not so easy to perform
for a non-grafic geek like me, and so

grid command
I'd like to know if there is a way to plot your stuff and have a grid on
the plot, in which
the grid falls exactly where it should, i.e. on the axis labels.
E.g., if on x axis I have the labels -4,-2,0,2,4 and on y
-1,-0.5,0,0.5,1
the command grid(5,5) puts the grid out of place, just on 0 it falls
right.
Any hint?
Thanks

Centos and automatic update on server
Hi list, I know that there are automatic update with yum-cron but never
tried.
In my experiences I never did automatic backup because if update was broken
my installation will be broken and I wait some time before apply update.
Today seems to be that automatic update are used more than before.
What do you think about automatic update? It is a good practice on a
server? What is your experiences?

Re:Problems in Dead Gateway Detection / Failover - MultipleISP Links
Hi There,
I am also trying to do the same for my network.
I have two links from different ISPs and I want to configure a failover and
load balancing Linux router.
I am facing same problem here, that how to detect link failure and let Linux
box switch the gateway.
I know it works when the first gateway is physically down and not reachable.
But what to do if my link is up but there is problem
